I currently use an iPad with Modstep to sequence 6 polysynths for my live, and I add my iPhone with a sampler app for some extra drums. This machine seems to be all those things rolled into one little, solid box. I seriously can't wait to see how well you can sequence external gear with this. If it does flawlessly, I'm getting this in a heartbeat. This is getting closer to hardware nirvana...

Its a sampler. It makes no sounds of its own. So every sound has been sampled.

Cenk does such masterful demoes, But I've always suspected that Elektron's gear is not half as good or fun as it seems. Like, who else on YT has made impressive videos using their boxes? It's 90% Cenk. Analogfour come to mind...

I wish there was a way to stop the digital clicks from the loop. I don't like that sound at all. other than that i think Elektron did a great job.

It's a sampler. You can adjust start stop time if you don't like it to click.

Probably not. If they didn't dedicate processor time (x2) to crossfade on loop points, it will click when moving randomly through sample. The thing is a little underpowered, I guess it's the same chip as in their older machines and they are reusing code from rytm and octatrack to keep development time and cost low.

I don't know Elektron but they seem sensible enough to add the right kind of crossfading in at some point so there isn't that clicking. It's not like no one would complain about it.

looks neat, it kind of reminds me of the BOSS DR-5 with its square form. but not sure I need it right now though. I can pretty much do all of this with the SP-404sx, Korg minilogue and Drumbrute I just bought recently. ..probably end up getting this anyway just to piss-off my girl. she keeps telling me not to buy anymore machines, yet she throws away good money on getting her hair and nails done every other week, Lol. I think I'm making the better financial decisions at this point. elemayo!😂

I've got the electribe sampler and it's getting sold and going towards one of these.. The sampling ability of the electribe is terrible compared to this. Also watching a few other videos the sequencer on this things is awesome. Not saying the electribe is garbage and the synth one is probably cool but I regret getting the sampler one.

Milo Dowling I didn't say anything about sampling. my point is the demo didn't blow me away with any sounds I couldn't come close to making on the EMX. I'm sure this thing is bad ass but is it revolutionary like the Octatract? I see this thing as what the mpc should be if only it had the traditional 16 pads

I'm just saying this thing isn't "making sounds" the sane way the EMX "makes sounds". They are completely incomparable. In fact everything you are mentioning, the Octatrack, MPC and Digiakt, are all incomparable to the EMX. There are indeed comparable to each other though! It definitely is no Octa but I still am excited for it to come out and to use it with my octa. Also, the MPC Live is fascinating too... exciting new products all around.

WOW!! This thing is retailing for $650? This demonstration sucked. A demonstration is supposed to show what can be achieved with a particular product. I heard NOTHING in this demo that could even remotely be considered GOOD music. Correction, I WAS a little impressed with the beat being made starting at time mark 1:57, but other than that, I'd think the machine was a sound effect generator, NOT an actual beat making machine.

oh no it's Mr. ADHD again...This thing won't have any song oder pattern chain mode what even the cheapest groovebox romplers have. It might be good for boring repetetive bleeps'n bloops music but Elektron kind of misses the point here. Rant over!

I don't think that's likely. Elektron's other products have pattern chaining and an arranger for songs.
