You’re right. They also don’t let emotions dictate their decisions. I used to get so nervous whenever the market dipped, but then I realized that people with wealth aren’t fazed by those fluctuations-they look at it as a chance to buy more at a discount

That's one thing I’ve been trying to emulate-thinking like an investor, not just a saver. I even scheduled a free consultation with Nora Jean Erickson. She’s a CFP, and her whole approach is about getting you to think differently about your investments. No pressure, just a chance to talk things over
@Kseniaramesh2 ай бұрын
Smart move. I’ve met with her too, actually. She gave me some really practical tips on balancing my portfolio. The consultation is a nice way to get a feel for her strategy without committing, and she really does have a millionaire’s mindset when it comes to building wealth.

Interesting. So, what kind of advice does she give? I’m always curious about what wealth managers focus on.
@Kseniaramesh2 ай бұрын
For one, she emphasizes having a core investment strategy and sticking to it. Like, if you’re into dividend stocks, she helps you build around that while adding in other assets to minimize risk. She’s big on making your portfolio weatherproof

50 now, and everything is paid for. Fortunately, I had a college economics teacher who taught me a lesson when I was 18 years old. That lesson was: you can't buy something else for every purchase you make. Having multiple sources of income is prudent, as is living within your means. I have a 13-year-old vehicle because it is all I need, I like it, and I can do whatever I want with it. My net worth is $4 million, and I can pay my bills without stress, but I don't live like I have that. I have no complaints.

Been following your work since 2013, it's been transformational to say the least! Also, it's uncanny how many parallels there are. I was a PT trading all my time for money, I even branded myself 'the handyman of fitness' and I ended up getting paid like it, not much. When I first started making money I bought a Porsche and had to sell it 12 months later so I could pay staff. In 2022, I bought the exact same model and colour Porsche again. I even suffered massive anxiety due to my lack of not taking ownership and thought I was going to die with my physical symptoms. All of this I turned around and turning 42, I'm in the best shape of my life, my company has 100s of clients all over the world and we're tracking to do 2.5 million in revenues over the next 12 months. Most importantly though, I'm calm, happy and my girlfriend and I are moving to our dream place in Thailand in 3 weeks. Your work has been inspiring and I'll reach out properly soon to see how/when I can work with you or attend one of your programmes. Thanks for the inspo.
