In the Finnish national epic 'Kalevala', which was originally composed with a combination of different folk tales across Finland, Blacksmith Ilmarinen forges a magical device known as 'Sampo', which according to the tale is able to produce infinite amount of material wealth out of thin air. He forges this device as a wedding tribute to 'Louhi', also known as the Hag of the North, in order for Ilmarinen to marry one of Louhi's daughters. After the wedding, the men of Kalevala realize that giving the device to their main adversary was likely a bad mistake, so they set out to reclaim it for themselves once more. During this raid, they manage to steal Sampo back, but only briefly, since Louhi being a renown witch turns herself into a winged beast and attacks the boat carrying Sampo. During this fight, Sampo is lost forever as it first gets damaged during the fight and ultimately falls over the edge of the Boat, sinking to the dark depths below. It is never disclosed in the tale what sea is in question when the men of Kalevala lose the Sampo, only that it separated the land of Kalevala from the deep frozen North. The Baltic sea anomaly could very well be the lost Sampo, since it was also never specified how big the device was.

Complete speculation here by my part: It is possible for this structure to be built by early humans; not advanced or anything. During the last ice age, many areas of the world currently underwater were exposed to the air, had fauna and vegetation and were used by people. A clear example is Doggerland between the UK and France, currently underwater, it still has human structures and remains that have been covered and mapped. Adding to this, this is in an area close to the pole and hence, during this era, very likely did not have this amount of water present. The sliding section is not surprising, a heavy object can force underwater sliding and is a well known geological effect, responsible for certain types of tsunamis . But as with everything we will just have to wait for data to come and, and, as in the case, reality tend to disappoint sometimes. That is just my take. Cheers PS: Several people have pointed out the impossibility of this scenario as the Baltic Sea was still underwater during this period and as the comment thread it quite large I reckon most have not read these replies. The proposed model is not viable.
@UmbraHand2 жыл бұрын
I would like to the point of electrical and electronic failures. Out of three attempts to amp the object, only one failed, in an area known for storms and disruptive weather. That is not a lot of data points to suggest much, and breakdown of equipment in the sea Is not entirely uncommon, especially with foul weather.

You're exactly right and I'm glad someone else has a brain in here. Lots of people buy into any kind of Triangle nonsense. This is also what was speculated by several teams that were looking into this remotely. It's a fun rock carving that kind of looks like the Millenium Falcon from certain angles and that's about all the mystery there is to it. But hey they gotta find SOMETHING to go on and on about, right? "Aliens made the pyramids, that rock formation, and easter island heads. Also if you get near ANY of these sources with a microwave set to high, it will turn on and cook whatever is inside." You could type that and people would believe it. This is a story for people who believe in triangle esque phenomenon and not for people based in reality. I mean we know it's just a rock. I know when water will be 200 feet higher in the future in the oceans, so if I go make a carving right now at sea level, in less than 1500 years it will be rather deep in the water and people could speculate about it and get all excited. Gasp! SPOOKY TECH!!

Ever heard of Kalkajaka, AKA Black Mountain in Australia? Either in Queensland or NSW, I forget. Ever since hearing a certain horrifying story about a guy who was lost in there, I’ve wanted to know more...but there’s not much out there about the place. Even the composition of the mountain itself isn’t understood. It’s just a giant mound of huge boulders. No one knows how deep these boulders go either. Some even believe the boulders were placed there, to seal “something” away. Witnesses have said they can hear haunting moans and wails from deep within the mountain, and it’s often accompanied by a horrible rotting stench. Some people have even suggested that the lichen-like organisms on the rocks releases toxins into the air incapacitating and killing animals, and eventually feeding off them as the body decays. Others have suggested that it’s a portal to hell itself. The Indigenous people have all sorts of stories about the place. Either way, I can’t help but wonder what might be down below that mountain.

@@Enzaio this incident happened before that book was written. It’s a real place, with real disappearances and mysterious sightings and sounds. Stuff has been officially recorded happening at Kalkajaka since the 1800s, and the locals say it goes back thousands of years. So unless someone has a time machine or a had the internet in the 1800s, the stories are unrelated. Or there’s the chance that Lovecraft was influenced by stories of Kalkajaka. The official Kalkajaka reports came first. It can’t be the other way around. I forget the guys name, he was an Aboriginal tracker helping with a manhunt. The tracker went in looking for the man, his flashlight died and he experienced what I mentioned above, plus some other strange happenings. He was wandering around the caves for hours before he finally made it out. He’s quoted as saying he would not return to that mountain even for a kings ransom. The fact that the sonar scans just look so weird is what really makes this object so fascinating. I know parts of the seabed were above water in the last Ice Age, and certainly there's a lot of evidence that the peoples of the time built along what was then the coast, only having to move when the water levels started to rise. Wouldn't it be sad if humanity could have had a larger head start on civilization if our first ones hadn't been sunk under the waves?

I am a bit skeptical about it being something so far fetched but I’ll give you a lesson on communication equipment; If you take a magnet strong enough and wave it around the motherboard of your pc you can kill it in no time. Electromagnetic fields are murderous to any kind of communication and can cause massive amounts of disruption and even destruction. If a ship existed capable of space travel and maybe even inter dimensional travel, in theory the power drive for such a vessel would create unfathomable powerful magnetic fields which would really ruin your day if you had equipment near it. And besides that we have jet fighters these days with electronic warfare suites that can use electro magnetism to counter missile locks. If we posses such technology (again in theory) a civilization capable of getting a vessel here would probably have a tonne of equipment to counter our prying eyes. But if you do believe it’s an alien craft down there, now you understand how all the distortions fit into that theory :)

But the hype of the discovery only lasted for a while, and then silence. @@EphemeralProductions Geology is cool. We are used to the idea that natural formations must be random because most formations seem random at first glance, especially when compared to our own manufacturing ideals, but when you look deeper and longer, you start to see the symmetry in more and more things, especially rocks and minerals. Most have crystalline structures, so when you shave or break them, there is more "order" to the break than you might assume. Stare at enough rocks, you start to see how it is entirely possible to have a rock have stairs and holes and that shape. Not saying this has to be a rock, but I also don't assume it can't be a rock just because it doesn't conform to my preconceptions of rockiness. Open-mindedness requires we not dismiss the natural explanations anymore than we should dismiss the unnatural ones. Even if it is just a rock, it is an amazingly cool thing all the same!

@stevew2782 жыл бұрын
with all the shipping, military exercises, testing and development and wars fought in the area, the governments of the region probably are aware of it to some degree and/or had investigated it at some point. Having stumbled upon it at some point, Maybe having some vague idea of what it is or what it was, documenting it, not finding any use for it or not able to get close enough to it to find out any more. but nevertheless are aware of its existence and have a file on it somewhere in military archives. But then they catch wind of a group of private citizens checking it out and keep an eye on them because they dont want anyone knowing more than they do about anything. The fact they dont ban explorers from the area around it tells me that the governments interest/knowledge of the thing is minimal ,was already deemed as either not a threat or not able to be used against them in any way. yet theyre interested enough to watch anyone exploring it because they dont really know what it is themselves

So theyre not so much interested in what OceanX publishes as they are with what they do while theyre at the site. (Assuming this thing is real as described, and assuming a navy ship was really observing oceanX as they explored the site, I dont really know how much of this is true because there arent many sources on the matter) Would be cool if other parties explored it in their own way but I understand its a costly venture to do anything underwater.

@@thefoxamongwolves9843 it's not that they were more advanced or that it was aliens, it's just that they can't figure out how it was done or how 60 ton granite blocks inside the pyramids were cut with such precision with copper tools. The Egyptian govt, particularly the ministry of antiquities is extremely conservative and doesn't want to admit it may have been done by a people or culture other than their own and they make it very difficult for scientists with different ideas to do research of any kind if their preliminary data/results do not support their ideas; when that's the case, they just don't get invited back.

@@tense99 Perfect example of not being clever enough yourself so ancient people were not either. Here, I did a quick google to solve the issue; "The harder stones, such as granite, granodiorite, syenite, and basalt, cannot be cut with copper tools alone; instead, they were worked with time-consuming methods like pounding with dolerite, drilling, and sawing with the aid of an abrasive, such as quartz sand." Just because copper tools can't do it doesn't mean it's impossible. Humans as a species are very clever and ingenious. Precision is the same, it just takes lots of patience.

For everyone bringing up Doggerland: this place is further up north. Much, much, muuuuuuuch further up. All of Finland and most of the Scandinavia and definaltely the whole Gulf of Bothnia was very much under a glacier throuhout the last Ice Age. And the weight of the ice pressed the land mass down for millenias, creating a big pool. When the ice melted and created a lot of water in the process, the pool was filled. This was called Ancylus lake and it covered what these days is the Baltic Sea, plus the western coast and the south coast of Finland and the eastern coast of Sweden. After the lake made connection to the sea, it became Littorina Sea, a much bigger and saltier sea than Baltic Sea is these days. So this area has been covered by ice or water as long as there has been humans around this north. It is not possible that the ancient civilization could have built it, unless they knew how to dive or dragged it to water. Either case is not very likely. Maybe it is a nazi bunker. Or a Soviet bunker?

After the ice melted (and created a lot of water in the process to fill the holes it had created) the land had been pushed down so much that big parts of Finland was under the sea. The land is rising and the sea is getting smaller a few millimeters even still every year. So this area wasn't ever on land and thus it's not possible for ancient humans to have built on it, unless they knew how to dive or somehow dragged it to the sea from land. Maybe it ha/ already been pointed out but around 3:50 it should say ”ingen signal” not ”inget signal”. It’s like saying ”not/nothing signal” instead of ”no signal”.

7:40 That just looks like someone modded the Millennium Falcon into Shadow of the Colossus.

Strangely perfect circular holes, rectangular blocks, slabs and staircases are all formations in rocks that I have seen occurring naturally fairly often. I think that this is most likely natural and has been deposited by melting glaciers or erosion. Exploration teams might have been perceiving the occurrence as more supernatural due to the mystery around the situation and their failing equipment. There is also a chance that it was part of a ship or cargo which had some kind of concrete like coating. The "runway" could be a result of its interruption on ocean currents.

I wonder if it's possible that the outward "stone" appearance is just the result of natural build-up of sea floor sediment despositing and solidifying over thousands, or perhaps even millions of years, and that underneath that layer is the actual ship the outer deposits formed over?

Nifty! And now I'm remembering The Bloop. I wonder if there is enough for a video on that?

Lost Civilization buried beneath the sea with a much higher development in technology and other "powers", is what it looks like to me. I expect we would all be stunned to discover what all lies in the depths of the oceans. Thanks for shedding light on this interesting anomaly! 🥴

This craft was the seeding "alien" spacecraft which brought the original beings of our current civilization, the Arya. Most historical societies will try to tell you they were originally settled in pre-historic times in Iraq, this is incorrect. They were originally Scandinavian and this is where the sagas of the Norse God's come from. This craft is still active and humming. They have already staked a claim to it, but everyone is concerned what yo actually do next with it. If I lived over in that region, I would have already made a dive therr quite a few times... Glad they made a video of this...

4:04 the text is misspelled, it says "nothing signal" instead of "no signal" in Swedish.
