"Massachusetts" is my favorite BeeGees but it's really hard to pick. I adore Robin's voice and he sings lead "Massachusetts"

The 60’s BeeGees is my favorite & this is one that gets to me every single time, Robin’s voice just mesmerizes me. Also ‘I’ve Got To Get A Message To you’ is sung lead by Robin 💔❤️‍🩹😪

Robin basically said it was up for interpretation. However, I get a religious vibe from this song. Robin passed away in 2012. It was said that this was played at his funeral. Thanks for listening to Robin’s beautiful voice. ❤

Oh man, the early Bee Gees, are like a different group before disco. "Words", "I've Just Got to Get a Message to You " or How Can You Mend a Broken Heart" are just some examples of beautiful easy rock music. If you like great lyrics and amazing harmonies, check those out!

You really REALLY should react to these BeeGees songs:: Party with no name Walking on air (Maurice lead) Dimensions On time (Maurice lead) Don't fall in love with me Above and beyond (Maurice lead) I will Country woman (Maurice lead) Flesh and blood Man in the midle (Maurice lead) Cryin' every day Omega man (Maurice lead) The lord (Maurice & Barry lead) Irresistible force House of shame (Maurice lead) I.O.I.O. (Maurice & Barry lead) She keeps on coming Hold her in your hands (Maurice lead) With my eyes closed Lay it on me (Maurice lead) Voice in the wilderness Overnight (Maurice lead) Will you ever let me Closer than close (Maurice lead) Giving up the ghost Lonely winter (Maurice lead) Whish you were here Don't forget to remember (Maurice & Barry lead) Ordinary lives

Thanks, Critical - this one features ROBIN - my very favorite.. the most unique and vulnerable voice - he wrote this when he was 17 or 18... years later, they did this live, and Robin sounded just the same! he and his twin Maurice are now gone, and I miss them.... this is 1989 live link, but also done in 1992... kzbin.info/www/bejne/mH3caXSheaeGd5o .. also some great old stuff from Johnny Carson show.. again, live... with Robin as the featured singer and his twin Maurice trying to crack everyone up... kzbin.info/www/bejne/rneaaZKwfrCHmbs any of those boys could hit any of those notes on any day of the week..

Another song you'd like if you liked this one is "Words" which is definitely one of their most beautiful compositions!

My interpretation of the song is someone who says the wrong thing at exactly the wrong time and unintentionally causes a lot of pain. As a result they are continually out of sync with the rest of the world and feeling like they can never make things right again. The singer is someone who's words and actions are chronically misunderstood. Robin has said this song was very spiritual for him. It was his signature song that he sang at every concert since it was written. It had a lot of personal meaning to him and he asked that it be played at his funeral.

Ah, Robin's lovely voice. Such a wonderful song. Although its meaning is open to interpretation, Robin did say at one point in time that, “this is a very spiritual song”.

Obviously from the 60's..what a great song by Robin. Don't forget to do "Lonely Days", also from 60's, and also "New York Mining Disaster" from the 60's.

“Alone” and “For Whom The Bell Tolls” are my favorite Bees Gees songs. They were later in the 1990’s. Robin shines in both songs. Do the video in NY.

I was a big fan of their early music and played it all the time when I was in college even though they were considered oldies at that point. A couple years later they were bigger than ever in the disco era.

I believe this song represents the duality of the human experience. The final verse sings of him finally dying which started the whole world living means it sadly takes the death of someone we love to truly cherish the gift of life, and so it is

Bee Gees pretty much leave the meaning to interpretation. This kind of song were Robin’s preferred songs. He loved melancholy, sad songs that just went with his beautiful ethereal voice. A beautiful R&B heartbreaking song is LOVE SO RIGHT, the vocals are out of this world. ❤❤❤

Ah, this one hits right in the middle of my coming of musical age. Late elementary years, just when I was listening closer to music and was feeling first tinglings of emotions beyond childhood, here came this song out of radios everywhere I went. A few years later my older brother brought home the original "Best of BeeGees" album, that had many of their pre-disco years fantastic songs. I'm a huge pre-1976 BeeGees fan, not so much of anything they did after that.

Me too. One of the very first albums I had was the Idea album. It was a great idea! Their earlier, more cerebral material came before the disco phase that they had, and how I became a fan.

You don't need a lead guitar or instrument when you have the voice of Robin Gibb to take the lead.

Robin was18 years old when he sang this. All 3 Bee Gees wrote it, but it was from an idea Robin got while listening to the engines of an airplane.
