I have loved the Bee Gees since the 60's and the songs they had on the radio back then. "To Love Somebody", "Massachusetts", "I Started a Joke" "I've Just Gotta Get a Message to You", and so on. So I was well familiar with their sound. But when this song came out on the radio, I actually thought it was the Beatles at first....even though I knew the Beatles had disbanded. It just shows how absolutely fantastic these brothers were/are that they were able to write such phenomenal songs and change their sound throughout the decades while still staying true to themselves as artists. Love your Bee Gee reactions!

You can go back even further with their debut appearances on Australian TV music shows when Barry was 14 and the twins were 11 , they were extremly good harmonisers even then and were already writing songs , they got as far they could go in our limited market so headed of to England and the Beatles led revolution and of course the rest is history.

They formed the BG’s in 1958. The name was later changed to the BeeGees. They performed and recorded as a group into the 2000’ when Mo passed away. Both Barry and Robin did solo work after that occasionally performing together, but not under the BeeGees name.Barry wanted to retire the name after Mo died. their last album together was This is where I came in, from spring 2001, Mo died 2 years later from a heart attack brought on by a twisted intestine. Check out this is where I came in, watch the live version, then watch the video ( it’s a hoot)… so many clues to their career in it, they are so funny. Their friend David English ( a Shakespearean actor from London) plays their mother and their old manager in the video. Also check out Wedding day, Alone, Run to me, I surrender. Their is an MTV acoustic version of Blue Island, if you haven’t checked it out, you should, also Kiss of Life, Shine Shine.

They of course kept performing their songs all their career, but for first time reactions I love it when someone is able to see and react as you did, to both how they looked, how they sounded. It gives a much better perspective of their career and how they evolved. I cant wait until you get into other songs from thier younger years. I love your reaction. Weren't they just so special? I grew up with them; followed them from the 60's on. I cried when Andy and Mo died. I never cried for any other group. I knew it would never be the same after Maurice died. We lost something very special and I knew it. Their songwriting, harmonies, cleverly written melodies, good looks, funny, easy going personalities, kindness toward their fans, etc. And yet there was more. Something I cannot express properly. I still listen to their music all the time. I pray for Barry and their families all the time 🙏 and pray that the Lord will draw them close to him every day; because Jesus is everything. Thank you for all the Bee Gees reactions. Their songs "One" and "Just In Case" are gorgeous and a must for your list.
