Fun fact, Barry, the lead singer, married his wife, Linda Gray, in 1970. They're still together. Barry is also the last surviving Gibb. Robin, Maurice, and Andy have passed away. A good video to see all four of the Gibbs, Barry, Maurice, Robin, and Andy, is the song "You Should Be Dancing". "You Should Be Dancing" should be your next video from these guys. 😊

Tenho 55 anos e acho lindo jovens como você gostar desse tipo de música. Música é atemporal. Não existe música velha. Música faz bem a alma. 👏🙏😘🇧🇷

Well, he was a total Lothario / rogue before he was married. He even had six girlfriends at the same time at 15 / 16 hears old, and proposed to all of them, using the same ring, lol. He admits it. He was so handsome he could have any girl he wanted, and he took full advantage. But once married he’s been totally faithful.

@TWariner yeah well that's irrelevant he literally was only a kid. When these videos were made he had been married for 10 plus years and had 2 children. He was not the player guy. I still don't know why the poster of this video thinks that he was. Obviously being good looking means you are the player guy.

History Check: Since 1977 it is the fifth biggest single of all time with 32 million EAN singles sold worldwide 👍claimed from in a survey of all radiostations around the globe as most airplayed song of all time in 2017 - every 20 seconds - this plays everywhere around the world and for sure it is the most iconic song of the 70´s decade. It’s a part of our shared cultural heritage now - one of those pop miracles that just never gets old, never wears off, never loses its charge. It remains alive. And indeed one of the most influenced and covered pop songs in history.

The BeeGees are the definition of disco, they were disco itself in the 70s. You just happened to start with a ballad from them but they're very, very famous for their disco dance songs. Many of their songs were in the 70s movie Saturday Night Fever, a movie with John Travolta about disco dancing.

In the late Sixties, Barry and Robin alternated lead vocals. Robin had one of the most touching vibrato voices ever. You can hear him as co-lead on "Massachusetts" and "Gotta Get a Message to You." Solo lead on "And the Sun Will Shine," "I Started a Joke," "Odessa," "Black Diamond" and "Lamplight." Starting in the mid-Seventies, their manager had them switch to Disco and had Barry start using his falsetto and sing lead on almost every song. Their music is pretty much the entire soundtrack for the movie "Saturday Night Fever" and its sequel "Stayin' Alive." But Robin still got an occasional lead song. Even Maurice got a few, including "Man in the Middle" and "Closer Than Close." Little brother Andy sometimes performed with the group, but was never an official member. Instead, he worked as solo artist, with Barry producing his material and writing a lot of it.

The BeeGees were: the tallest and oldest brother (with the big hair and beard), Barry Gibb, born September 1, 1946, the only surviving Gibb brother. Robin Gibb (with the long hair, no beard), born December 22, 1949-passed away May 20, 2012, and Robin's fraternal twin brother Maurice (the balding brother with the beard, pronounced "Morris") Gibb, born December 22, 1949-passed away January 12, 2003. They also had another, younger, brother Andy Gibb, born March 5, 1958-passed away March 10, 1988. The three oldest brothers were born on the Isle of Man (UK). Oldest brother Barry got seriously burned when he accidentally pulled boiling tea over himself at 18 months old. He was in coma for a while, nearly died and was in hospital for many months. Because of this, he did not learn to talk until after the twins were born. Later the family moved to Manchester and from there they emigrated to Australia in 1958, right after Andy was born. All 4 brothers are just natural musical talents. All of them dropped out of high school in their early teens and none of them could read or write music. All their compositions were created completely organically. Their musical career, which they had started as little kids, didn't lead to international success so they moved back to the UK in 1967. Then they had a string of big hits, until they temporarily broke up around 1970 for 15 months. Started back up, looking for a new sound which they first found in 1974 with the transitional album "Mr. Natural". After that "Main Course" was the first album that moved them into a new direction: more rhythm&blues, dance music like with great hits like Nights on Broadway and Jive Talkin' (and was also actually the first album on which their logo was introduced). From 1976 on they went all out with falsetto driven dance music which lead to their biggest commercial success as they provided classic songs for the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack (1977 Stayin' Alive, How Deep is Your Love, Night Fever amongst them). You should react to the 1979 live version of Stayin' Alive, too kzbin.info/www/bejne/bZ_MiYaebNuKiKs Other great songs to analyze: great album tracks from the 1979 Spirits Having Flown album, the title song: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jXnCm2xmm6h8oZY, the outrageously beautiful song Reaching Out kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJerhoZrgstjZrM. From their Still Waters album, Smoke and MIrrors: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g4Wcp4V-iLyBmM0. From the 1960's I've gotta get a message to you kzbin.info/www/bejne/eXKXdHykedOHoZo. And from the 1990's the simple song Blue Island live in an accoustic version: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z2eVeJ93etWZqLs. Andy was kind of Barry's mini me, about half a foot shorter and 12 years younger but they were the only lefties of the family. However, his voice was nowhere near as broad in range or as strong as Barry's. As producer Alby Galuten said in the book "Tales of the brothers Gibb "Andy's falsetto was nowhere near Barry's." Andy had a lower, huskier, sound to his voice and his range was not as big as Barry's. I personally always thought his voice was much better suited to songs of his first album, Flowing Rivers. Andy died of myocarditis - which is an inflammation of the heart - on March 10, 1988, 5 days after his 30th birthday. His heart had been weakened by his drug addiction over the years which, by the way, was also the main reason for his split from Victoria Principal. He also had a congenital heart problem that was later also discovered in Barry and Barry's second son Ashley. Try listening to the song Dreamin' on kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y3zHc4mBmLiGidk which is kind of a duet with Barry. And here are the 4 brothers live on stage in 1979 doing You Should Be Dancing kzbin.info/www/bejne/lWewg2B7lLatsJI And finally a few photos of Barry and Andy: i.postimg.cc/jS6n3Jkv/Barry-Andy.jpg and i.postimg.cc/TwnPh8M0/82c126fc42a35d3b737867af41338199.jpg and the 4 brothers with their mother i.postimg.cc/FRNMbwkD/b9b2561eadffee11347573c97063c2f8-zpsd89478eb.jpg

During their long career, the brothers Gibb reinvented themselves two or three times. Each phase was outstanding...in its own away. Brother #4, Andy, was 8 years younger than the twins (Robin & Maurice) and 11 years younger than Barry. Because The Bee Gees were an established act, Andy went into the music business on his own. Tragically, he succumbed to depression and substance abuse and died at age 30. Of all the brothers, Barry is the sole survivor.

They sing those high notes in their upper register and it's known as falsetto. It's very impressive that they can get so high in falsetto, produce so much volume in falsetto, and stay in falsetto for so long. I sang tenor in the University Chorus at the University of Illinois, and had to sing a lot of falsetto. I used to come home from rehearsals with a sore throat!

The Bee Gees sort of had two careers, one as a soft rock or pop group, and one as a disco trio. I knew them in the late 1960s and early 1970s for hits like Gotta Get a Message to You, I Started a Joke, Lonely Days, and How Can You Mend a Broken Heart. Then they seemed to disappear, only to explode back into the popular music scene with disco hits like Jive Talkin', NIghts on Broadway, How Deep is Your Love, Stayin' Alive, NIght Fever, If I Can't Have You, More Than a Woman, and Too Much Heaven. Six of those appeared on the soundtrack album to the film Saturday Night Fever in 1977. Really there are only four years between their "two careers," as Broken Heart came out in 1971 and Jive Talkin' came out in 1975, but they had no Top 10 hits in between, and they really, really exploded on the disco scene in 1977. Although many people credit the Bee Gees with sparking the whole disco movement by releasing Saturday Night Fever, some music historians claim that discov ws already dying and that they revived it for a few more years. Either way, from my perspective and a child and then a teenager, it seemed like they had two distinct careers. 🙂

The BeeGees actually came to resent this song a bit because they became known as a disco band. They were not a disco band, they were a band that did a few disco songs, it wasn't *all* they did and it upset them that so many people were surprised that they had other genres they could do. Between the three of them, they wrote hundreds (Berry Gibb alone wrote over 200), the of songs both for themselves and other artists. There was a 30 year period in America where there was always at least one song written by one of them in the top 10.

When you think about it, of all the hit singles the Bee Gees produced, only 4 were really disco, although they did lend their talents to other groups, and their brother Andy for his dance numbers. Downey take away from singing but adds so much fun. Would love to see them live. I’m sure he has more that we haven’t seen. Plus, he rarely gets the respect he so deserves for his musical and harmony contributions. RIP Maurice and Robyn

I don't know if anyone has already said it, but this song has the perfect beat for performing CPR... so, if you ever have to save a life by doing CPR, hum this song and you will do it right, and literally "stayin' alive."

Top bands from those times didn't just have one hit and keep repeating it. Every song was different. The Bee Gees performed various styles of music.

Yo may not be aware of it but you have heard the BeeGees before. Movies, Tv, Cartoons, Advertising and 100s of songs written for other artists. Country,Disco, Rock, motown even gospel. They originally called themselves the BG's. Promoters and merchandisers didn't like it because it was to easy to confuse the name. So they spelled it out to BeeGees witch always stood for the Brothers Gibb. There was a fourth brother, the youngest named Andy. He was the heart throb of teen girls at the the time. He (Andy) got the TV time/movies. He was the number one teen idol of the time. One other thing about the BeeGees they always keep there music clean.

Watch the You Should Be Dancing video. It is a live performance and it has their youngest brother Andy singing with them. He was the best looking. He favors Barry. Maurice and Robin were twins. Barry is the only one left. Andy died when he was 30. He had hits though, Shadow Dancing was a big one. I loved him.

"Jive Talkin" which is not a part of their movie music, but it is the song that got the Bee Gees into disco from their folk rock days, which is another genre but great music. ("Massachusetts") Also the documentary of how they wrote the five songs that are the basis and musical theme for "Saturday Night Fever," (on You Tube and Tubi) is fantastic.

Remember this song, If you ever need to give an adult CPR it is the perfect beat for chest compressions, Don't waste your time and energy on breaths, just pressing the chest down about 1/3 to half way will get enough air in the lungs. Don't start with the compressions until you have professional help on the way. This song can literally keep someone staying alive.
