I like this one. In fact, the 'One' album is one of my favorite Bee Gees albums. I own all of them, but this is the one I have played most. It's this album that made me dive fully into their catalog. I knew some Bee Gees songs before, and I liked them all. But when this album got out, I bought it, and it was my first CD to buy. Since then I started to collect all their albums. What a ride.

I really like this one. I think it is really fresh. I like the instrumentals in the middle that sound like traditional asian music. And yes, the beat is fun & melody catchy! You can tell Robin wrote this one. It reminds me a little of "Juliet,"❤ which I love even more!❤❤❤

Jaybriel, I agree with you about using it commercially. Every time I hear it the Summer Olympics come to mind. They're missing a great opportunity here if they don't use it this summer. The Bee Gees are very much loved and admired in Japan so I think they should honor them this way. It would be a wonderful gesture on their part. Great reaction!

Somehow.... I do not think that would have been the case. For one thing Andy was a solo artist with his own career. This is only speculations.

@@kevindobson9732 "Six months before his death, I campaigned to get him included," he said. Barry said he was outvoted two-to-one, so instead he helped get Andy a solo deal with Island Records in the UK. Andy moved into a cottage on Robin's Oxfordshire estate, optimistic, he said, about making it big again. But he was soon confessing to Robin the doubts that plagued him: did he have talent, or was he just trading on the family name? " from a Bee Gees biography "Staying Alive" by Simon Spence. I've seen an interview too where Barry has said that Andy was going to join them, but I doubt after Andy's death they would be saying anything else when asked that question. And, why would Barry get Andy that record deal which was why he was in England when he died? Andy was a mess. Cocaine and alcohol was ruining his life, and being in England with a new record deal didn't change that. By the time Andy died, Maurice and Barry had both pretty much given up on him. Listening to a lot of their interviews, I found that they said whatever suited them at the time.

That entire album was really good and even though the title track was a Top 10 hit in America, the album missed the Top 40. They were still dealing with the disco backlash of a decade earlier.

@@MA-oy3sx I think maybe not. Simon Spence's biography "Staying Alive" tells a pretty much different story. But after Andy died, why not say that he was? Andy was in England at Robin's house when he died because Barry had gotten him a solo deal with Island Records. If he was going to join the group, why did he need a solo deal? During interviews, I've found that they pretty much would say whatever sounded good to them at the time.

@@MA-oy3sx I've seen people say this all the time. P.258 "Six months before his death, I campaigned to get him included," he said. Barry said he was outvoted two-to-one, so instead he helped get Andy a solo deal with Island Records in the U.K." I just think Barry felt guilty as hell about Andy, and how he pushed Andy into something he may not have wanted so in his mind, Andy was always going to join the group. And, yes, I've seen the interview where Barry says that with Maurice and Robin sitting next to him, but what were they going to say at that time? (NO! We never wanted Andy in the group!) I don't think so.

I recently listened to the Maurice CD from the Mythology box set with a CD for each brother - almost everyday for probably 2 weeks straight before changing the CD - 20+ songs. I think WALKING ON AIR is probably my favorite of his from the post fever years, but both of the others you recommended are great. My husband even commented that there are a lot of the songs on Maurice’s CD that he really likes.... adds variety to the catalog. I also like the vocal creativity of some of his older songs like LAY IT ON ME, and his classical instrumentals. I also like his and Barry’s vocal collaboration on GIVE YOUR BEST.
