Making that next week. Perfect for the cold February evenings. Lovely.

The color is what gets me. Fascinating and tasty to my eyes. The juice is also thick and I would accompany this with white rice ( potatoes are in already) 10/10 for you

This came out lovely last winter. Going to make it today in the middle of summer because Welshland is so cold today. PS Are you David Beckham though? Just askin for a friend

Decisions, decisions, to brown the beef shin or not. I see a lot of recipes that advise not to brown the shin and to just go ahead and stew it. Others like this one brown it off. I have the shin and tomorrow I need to decide!

Ooohh a tough one, although I'd say you always want to brown it off first, reason being, is that your only adding flavour, if you don't your likely just missing out on a level of flavour, particularly for something like a stew or soup, you want big bold flavour... I'm curious what you did and how it was 😊👍

Can you make the beef stew on a stove or is it a lot better in the oven?
@thewestcountrykitchen6843 Жыл бұрын
Thats a really good question Jack! ☺ I have made stews on a hob many times years ago to be honest, with the same results as the oven, so I dont see why not 👍 If I remeber rightly I needed to top up the stock a few times as it reduced quicker 🤔

That was a very rich Beef stock, and you can always add a touch more water if too rich
