I have had an Instant Pot for two years and it is still in the box (I know, I know), but I am going to inaugurate it with your recipe this week! This may change up my cooking completely, although I do love my cast iron pots and pans.

I like it that you cook French dishes ! My beef bourguignon is slightly different but looks exactly like yours . I only use a tall glass of red wine ( because of the price of a whole bottle) and add 2Tall glasses of water .As to the mushrooms I fry them in a pan and serve them on top of the meat ..so you see we do it almost the same .It’s so good in winter when it is very cold outside

That wine was only 2€ in Lidl. It’s fine for cooking, I don’t marinade my beef. If it was for a dinner party, I would sauté the mushrooms, lardons and shallots at the end and add them. However, I think it tastes great in the pressure cooker.

Another recipe we plan to try! My instant pot died during 2020. My husband replaced it with a Ninja 5 in 1. I can air fry, pressure cook, bake, slow cook and more. It really is an oven replacement. And when our oven died this year allowed me to cook while saving to replace. Win win!!

Thanks for the wonderful recipe Jane - I will definitely make this for my husband. I bet he asks me to make it for when we go Winter camping. We've had an Instant Pot for 2 years now - we were a bit late joining the party but I'm so glad we have it! I use it several times a week I use it to make steel cut oats, different types of beans, rice, quinoa, steamed potatoes and vegetables, soups, pasta sauce and stews. It's such a time saver and I like not having to stir and babysit whatever is cooking in it.

Lovely idea that will be on the menu this next week. I have beef in the freezer so I will get it out for tomorrow. I will make it in my slow cooker as I don’t have an instant pot. I love your cooking videos the are so inspiring and meals are always taste. Watching you make them inspires me to try them. Needless to say you cook the kind of food I love. Keep them coming. Jane & Michael, This is exactly why I love your vlogs!!! You cook the way I was raised! Living in the country you make do with what you already have, or have grown in the garden and kept in the cellar. This recipe is still the basic ingredients and it looks delicious!! Will definitely be making this. We cook with our stove, one instant pot, and one slow cooker. I use the instant pot to batch cook a lot of items! Dry beans of all kinds, pasta sauces, brown rice, white rice, stocks and bone broth. We store all of this in our freezer in “family size portions” so weekly meals are quick and as healthy as possible. Our version of fast food 🤨😉😂 (Another side note of what I love about you two, you do most everything together! That is my hubby and I. Obviously, we do our own things but generally not far away from each other. Just the way our lives works best for us.) Thank you so very much for sharing your lives with us! God bless you both.

I still work part time even though my husband is retired and often on the days I work, I cook something up in my slow cooker. I mix it up the night before and tell my husband what time to take it out of the fridge and plug it in. That makes dinner so much easier when I get home from the hospital. Just made some barbecue pork shoulder the other night. It’s great for leftovers too.

I used a slow cooker that plugs in, uses the same amount of electricity as a light bulb (prob not energy saving ones). I can put it on in the morning and it will be ready early evening or overnight. If I cook overnight, I have economy 7 so my electricity is 1/4 of the day time amount. Therefore, it is 1/ 4 of the cost of an electric light bulb.

I've very recently bought an Instant Pot; I've often used a pressure cooker on my hob, it is useful but you have to keep around to control things. I used the slow cooking control to melt the butter in the mincemeat I've just made, this went well, but I expect I will use my slow cooker some of the time. I have found the Instant Pot easy to use but the instructions don't contain much information about cooking times etc. so previous experience with pressure cooking may be an advantage.

@@FrugalQueeninFrance Interesting, maybe that´s why in English there is only "chicken soup" and no "hen soup"? But the hen soup, at least here in the Czech Republic, is widely known as a great remedy for colds and overall a kind of comfort food that can improve your health. Maybe one day you could buy some "retired" hen from a local farmer and try to make that miracle elixir:-) A pressure cooker would be surely much appreciated for such a meritorious undertaking:-)) Thanks for your recipe, I can´t remember whether I have tried to cook B.B. ever in my life... I do, however, have 3 different sized slow cookers which I use regularly, and also try to cook as many things as I can on my (propane) stove top. We are planning a move soon, and I intend to get a toaster oven for the new house to limit oven use.

hello! I would like to ask you about what you think about a slow cooker, I am thinking to buy one but it depends of electric consumption if it is high or not. sorry I know it's not a subject related with your video that by the way is very good.

A slow cooker is the cheapest way to cook, put a stew or casserole in first thing in the morning, in the evening, it’ll be ready

I will certainly try this recipe, but I have fibromyalgia and can’t use wine because of the sulfites in it. Any ideas for subs? Thanks!

Yes, put water in it, it will then be a beef stew.

Looks delicious 😋 We don't have an instant pot, it's on my to get list, saving cash for it, hopefully next summer. I've heard wonderful things about it. I've had a thermomix for 15 years and I also use the slow cooker

What is difference between a slow cooker, crock pot and instant pot?. But is worth using it for one person?

A slow cooker/crock pot is the same, they just cook slowly. An instant pot is multi function

@@FrugalQueeninFrance is it the price worth for just one person?
@FrugalQueeninFrance
@FrugalQueeninFrance 2 жыл бұрын
@@inekedusseljee3093 no, 5.50€ was for all the meat, it cost 12€ to make the entire beef bourguignon, it made 6 portions so 2€ per portion, plus veggies it was 2.50€ per person.

@@FrugalQueeninFrance okay, I will not spend on a special cooker, for they are not so cheap to buy. . I will just use what I have in pots and pans. Thank you for your answer.

@@inekedusseljee3093 my mistake, I thought your question was about the beef I cooked. If you have a Lidl store near you, they make their own version of the instant pot. It’s cheaper.
