BEEF ROLLED TACOS | Crispy Taquitos With Salsa Recipe | How To Make Flautas

Rolled Tacos are one of my favorite eats. Anytime I head to San Diego, I make sure to go to my favorite taco shop and order rolled tacos. This is the way I like to make shredded beef rolled tacos loaded with fresh toppings. Whether you call them taquitos, flautas or rolled tacos, this recipe is a good one. :)

INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 to 2 lbs Beef (Chuck Shoulder Roast)
Salt & Pepper
2 bay leaves
3 cloves of garlic
1/2 of a small onion
1/4 tsp of Mexican oregano
2 cups beef broth
15 to 20 corn tortillas
oil for frying
TOPPINGS
Guacamole
Mexican Crema (sour cream
Shredded Lettuce
Cheddar Cheese
Cotija Cheese
Salsa
TIPS
*Use a shallow fry to prevent loss of filling
*A good fry temperature is 350 to 375 degrees Fahrenheit
*An alternative to fry is to bake @ 400 degrees Fahrenheit for
15 minutes or until golden brown and toast

Thanks s video was literally life changing for me. We love Mexican food but I never make it at home because I don’t like cleaning the stove after frying tortillas. It never occurred to me to warm them in just a tiny bit of oil. I did this today for chicken enchiladas and there is absolutely no splatter to clean up but the tortillas were soft and pliable. From now on I’m making tacos, enchiladas, etc at home. Thank you so much for the tip!

I tried taquitos for the first time a couple weeks ago, and I think I'm addicted. My favorite food used to be pizza, now it's taquitos. How did I ever live my life without this little rolls of delicious joy? I REALLY love the shells. I could literally eat just the shells without the filling, so long as no flavor was lost. The texture and flavor is like heaven in my mouth. This all started when I stopped by a little taqueria on my way home from running errands. I was hungry and wanted to try something different. I ordered a carne asada taco. It came with this spicy green sauce. I fell in love with that green sauce. I still don't know what it is. The man running the place doesn't speak much English and I don't speak much Spanish and Google doesn't seem to be helping enough. Anyway, I was in a mini heaven with that taco. This made me a little more adventurous and I tried a taquito. More specifically a chicken taquito. I don't know if it was a good idea, now I'm hooked. I've tried all sorts of foods and somehow never really tried much Mexican or South American foods, and so far, I'm loving it.

PRO TIP: Lightly grease the bottom of the pan. Heat tortillas till soft. No need to add more oil. Make a mixture of water and flower into a lite paste. Add you meat to the tortilla and roll 3/4 of the way. Dip 2 fingers in the paste and spread over the remaining part of tortilla and roll. The paste will glue it together. These can be made ahead of time and refrigerated. That's how there done in the taco shops.

Yep, that's how I do it too. Flour paste, you can use broth (bullion mix) instead of water in your flour mixture.

Just found your videos and am loving them. My dad spent most of his youth in southern part of Texas and he always did the cooking when it came to Mexican food. These tacos were our all time favorites...when mom made a big roast for Sunday dinner we knew what dad would be making on Monday...tacos!!
