We had the same chop saw, with the same problem, in a machine shop I worked at 10 years ago, one way to prevent the ckt breaker from popping every time, is to give the saw a quick SUPER SHORT squeeze, just enough to get the thing moving - but only to get it moving a tiny bit, then build on that with the next trigger squeeze, and speed it up the tiniest amount, then by the third pull of the trigger, it ought to be good for full trigger and full speed to use to cut with. Those really use a hell of a lot of current

Hey guys. It'll be spring before we know it. Healthy calves on the ground. Grass greening up. Longer days. If you grab a new breaker, same brand, same type, that might help with your chopsaw popping it.(unless there's other high draw motors on that circuit) After they've tripped a few times, they get weaker. Isolate which circuit it's on too, and if you have other motors on that circuit, if you can, move one or the other off that circuit onto a different one. They're probably 20 amp breakers, so they'll trip out if they have 18 amps on them, and they've tripped a few times. Just trying to help. Last time I mention it. 👍 best to you guys.
@cliffsmith9527
@cliffsmith9527 3 жыл бұрын
Chop saw needs 20 amp breaker. But before you do that run a #12 awg cable so you don't burn down the house. And you can use a heavy duty 15 amp receptacle to finish the plug in. That will stop the breaker from tripping, love your show.

My grandpa had a dairy farm. One time the cow lot was a soupy, poopy mess. My uncle was cleaning it out. The technique was to scoop some of the solid stuff first and put it at the back of the spreader to act like a dam. Fill the rest up with soup. We filled up a load and my uncle, my brother and I hopped on the (cab-less) tractor and headed out to the field. What was supposed to happen was to run the spreader at a high rpm and as the dam was lost, slow things down and let the soup run out. But we were talking and not paying attention and the spreader hit the soup at full speedy. It coated us and the tractor with a nice, thin layer of poop. We had a good laugh.

Can be the type as was the issue with ours had type B MCBs fitted where C curve MCBs were recommended to us where we had a chop saw plugged in. Given that it basically cost a case of beer as he swapped them over when he was passing and had time and the fact we haven't had any problems since I'm guessing that was the issue.

Those wheels are sufficient, you'll get a little workout but they'll work. I made a wooden gantry crane about 5 years ago to hoist a 1500~ lb concrete tv antenna tower anchor out of the ground. Each wheel is rated for 400lbs, so technically it had 100lb extra capacity... And it worked but it didn't want to roll very well at all.

NOTHING WRONG with trial and error. Wheels you put on are great size for inside on smooth concrete. Just need larger 6"-8" to easily roll on rougher outside concrete covered with dirt and small rocks. BTDT. Hard part (building frame) already done. When you have heard enough of "should of put bigger wheels on".....Just don't say a word.....torch out small wheels, weld in larger ones and see who notices first in video of next time you need it. This will be a great merch give away opportunity. People will love it. As ALWAYS.....GREAT VIDEOS.

I try to use casters that are rated for like twice the weight of whatever I’m wheeling around. Seems to work. Now, about that breaker. That saw needs to be on a 20 amp circuit with 12 gauge wire and there can’t be anything else drawing juice on that circuit. If this circuit you’re on fits this criteria then it looks as if you do need to replace the breaker. If it’s a 15 amp breaker then don’t replace it with a 20 amp breaker. It’s probably hooked up to 14 gauge wire and you don’t want to overload that stuff. I have a 20 amp circuit for my chop saw and it will still trip if I bear down too hard. Good luck! (You may want to consult an electrician next time you have one out at the farm.)

Great video!! You come up with some funny things, it's brilliant!!! Farmers are always in the poo, I've been breathing through a snorkel for years. Snow does not stop me spreading slurry or muck unless it is deep off course if I'm not allowed no one ever pointed it out.

Cole the headache you mentioned after welding was caused by, probably, the fumes that resulted from welding on the galvanized metal of the rollers. Nasty stuff and not good for you at all. If you have to weld galvanized metal do it outside in a light wind. The Kinpco running in a closed shop likely helped too. As far as the wheels, you have heard from the chorus. But I would suggest when you redo to use three wheels like a tricycle with a long handle on the front wheel. Wheels something like that is on your Lincoln welder. I'm about you Dads age and I have done many fabrication jobs on the farm like you did. Always learn what I did wrong just after I thought I was done with the project.

Hey again guys!! Glad to see you are doing ok. Cole, I cant believe you fired that plopper load over your camera...for the audience eh? When you made the trolley for the hydraulic unit you should have made it higher one end, that way it would be facing down hill and easier to push.....I think I'm on to something.
