What if Break The Targets was in Smash Ultimate?

We built more Break The Target stages in Smash Ultimate using the custom stage builder. The goal is to destroy all targets and then hitting the second player as fast as possible. Both of us each get 10 minutes to come up with and practice a fast strategy. After that we get 2 attempts at a good time. Whoever is faster wins!
We played with a 10 minute timer, stamina and a spirit that gives you damage at the start of the match.

Honestly, these are the most interesting vids you guys have put out. I would like to see longer practice times or one more attempt because of general stage jank. That said, I'm happy that you guys are trying to keep the stages and characters varied. Break the Targets will always be a great and interesting game mode, big missed opportunity by Sakurai.

@@SuperJumpBros It's better how the community is doing it right now. Considering the HUGE amount of characters in Ultimate, the work by Sakurai and team for character specific and smart Break The Targets stages like in Melee would be impossible.

I suggest you two versions of the stages: the original and another one with respawnable bomb boxes. You'll have to focus to avoid getting confused about your plan, but you'll save the time of resetting while practicing

i can’t make a custom stage meant for small smash :((( by the way you can imitate slow smash by going into grid mode, drawing a complicated hollow shape with freehand, and making it spin. yeah it’s just lag

I feel like you should do the attempts like this: 1 time cFive, 1 time vyq, 1 more time cFive, 1 more time vyq. That way you never know if you already won or not.

This would make for a good member challenge, see who can get the best times on each stage. Could either do it by best overall time or best time with each character so it shows how you can optimize a not-so-ideal character for a particular stage.

We need to get targets added in the next stage builder, and much more stuff that occours to me, like adding the enemies of smash run or characters doing precise stuff programmed by the player, stage builder could be much more, hopefully the next smash adds more options for players to use.

Targets don't really make sense to be in stage builder ,how would you use them? They are really only a design option. You could use them for training stages, but that's a bit too spefific. I'd say they add types of buttons that can be used on parts ,and hitting or touching them makes something happen. A button would be a skin for them

@@taiphonix9232 oh yeah, You would be right, in a normal stage would make no sense, i was refering to the idea of having something like a "Target test builder mode" that uses the same tools as stage builder, but exclusively adds the option of targets and the option to specify the character ir characters that play in the Target stages built. And could you add a bit more to your concept? It sounds interesting, but i don't picture it well enough. Fans can bring pretty interesting concepts to the game, tell me more!

@@JohnDoe-wl6qe Ok ,I'll try For my dream Stage Builder , I'd love a way to be able to add details to it simply. It'd be a 3D Stage ,and already I feel I'm asking for too much but hear me out. You'd be in a 3D Space to build ,and there will be many borders. The Orange-Yellowish Border with Transparent Squares show where the players will fight in the 3D space. The border would be a bit thin ,since the battles would be 2D The Blue Border will display the Max Camera Zoom Out ,and the Red Border will display the Danger Zone. This would help many people have fun since they can build more detail to their stages. The glitching problem would be solved like how they make you be able to be interacted with Mr.Game&Watch. Rails : This is one of the reasons I'd love a 3D Builder. Normally ,you would only be able to move them in the X and Y axis ,but when you add the Z-Axis it becomes a whole lot better. Levers : They Are basically the same Hazards : All the hazards are a bit more customizable. You can customize their transparency , power and more. There will also be a bunch of new ones This one could be it's own thing though. Buttons Can be chosen to be activated by different things ,like an attack or a player touching it. They do have the same function of a switch ,maybe that can be an extra option for a switch. both have customisable looks ,like a Test Target or A Stick This one could also a different thing ,this time a material ,but I'll put it here You can put water in your stages. This would be helpful in many stages since they use ice to substitute water. A hazard that could be added is a chest. These could provide items for players depending on your item rulesets. This could help people make casual stages One final hazard (that again could be a material) are ropes. Act like ropes ,and could go well with physics. Materials : Color and materials are seperate ,but there may be less materials as a result. Pure (Just 1 color with nothing else) Glow (A glowing version of your color) Wood Yarn Lava (GREEN LAVA?) Ice Steel Glass Grass Dirt Stone Add 3 more to match the SSBU version ,but I think we shouldn't go overboard. Many other things like Music ,Background and Stage Size are customizable and don't have to be determined only at the start of creating a stage. Basically ,A 3D space to add detail and more potential ,More Customization for more potential again. Freehand drawing could be removed due to the 3D functionality being hard to implement into such. Id say you draw 1 each side and it automatically makes a shape like that for you but that'd be too much ,we are adding to much already and I just want it to be something that everyone can have fun with.

Here's an idea why don't you guys make a video featuring other people's best times for each character. It'd be really interesting to see which characters people use and what strategies they come up with. The submission process could be fairly simple as well. Just have your character and your time and then you guys can sort through the videos faster.
