David, great to see the round hive doing well. If you had mites how would you treat this hive - which method?

David, look up kozahive. It's a round hive, longer and has leggs. I think you will find it interesting.

I did not know the term "wash boarding", but I did observe the action and thought they were running vacuum sweepers to collect spilled pollen. At least, that's what it looked like. 🐢

Do you have any flow hives, and what is your opinion on them?

Seems like a big pain in the neck.. not something you could even put an excluder on either, at least not a traditional one. On the brighter side, I had a swarm just magically "move in" to one of my empty hives this morning! I didn't do anything other than just show up at the right time to notice them. Time will tell if they stick around.

David! I have a queenless hive with 1 virgin queen hatched but i’m positive her mating flight will be unsuccessful because it’s my only hive and there’s no other colony’s in my area. How should I introduce a new queen into the hive with her being in there?

Why have you not looked into transplanting the round hive into something you can work easier?

Because I'm just doing this as an experiment to see if I let them be, how will they do. I have plenty of hives in Langstroth equipment.
