The British commonwealth has a few “Kangaroo” armored transports, that are essentially U.S. vehicles with their turrets pulled off and replaced with transport space, that have armor 8 or 9 depending on the variant

Just to speak about my experience running a fully mechanized platoon, I run at 1500 points using the US Dday mechanized selector; 1st lieutenant, Veteran sniper, x4 armored rifles, x3 bazooka teams, x4 M3 halftracks M4 mortar carrier Veteran M4A1(76) I designed this list to fit the actual organization of a historical mechanized platoon, except for the mortar carrier, which would have been a separate squad in a regular halftrack, but I felt that would be unwieldly in bolt action. In short, having this many armored MMG platforms is excellent, and lets you outshoot many armies from range. Having multiple transports with similar but slightly different contents is also very good for providing flexible responses to a variety of threats. Also, obviously, the sheer amount of armor on the table is very nice. The downsides are that those halftracks are expensive and come at the cost of the infantry. The armored rifle squads are mostly barebones, and although they use their US rules to be very dangerous jumping out of transports into point blank to hit on twos, they also tend to get stuck unable to advance against superior defenders. The infantry depend on the armor to keep the enemy pinned while the rifles deal the knockout blow. It can be very dangerous, but these mechanized teams are each able to destroy a significant threat, and you have four of them. I tend to pair them up to each hold a flank while the mortar and the Sherman flex from the center. To talk briefly about the Sherman, it is definitely not a worthwhile choice. A much better selection would be a Hellcat and two M8 greyhounds, bringing the total number of armored vehicles in the list to a whopping eight. But frankly I just really like my Sherman, even if it’s always disappointing me in game.

I have been using an opel blitz in my early war german armies. I love the speed, but it feels like a waste of points when it just dissappears (enemy got closer to it). I just built a half-track to try out next! I hope the firepower is worth it.

If taking a German truck the MMG gets 6 shots so more worth it. I take a truck in every German list virtually.

I made that mistake undervaluing transports. Never leave home without 1 or 2. Depending on what I need. Always take the veteran ranking and keep them in reserve to outflank. Really keeps your opponent guessing. The only thing I would add to what you said is that transports will be destroyed if they end a turn closer to the enemy. So you have to be very careful with how you position them or you could lose it without it even being damaged. That’s why I’ll never take a half track. Far too expensive with the threat of losing it like that is not worth it

Universal Carrier is low-key the best transport in the game, cheap, good rules and it can carry two machine guns to hurl pins at Infantry and maybe kill a few even.

This is why I love my Kettenkrad with Panzerschrek team. Nothing says anti vehicle bubble of 24 inches as it rushes to an objective and then unloads it. I should also see what I can do with my sniper also doing the same thing. Then I bought a Ford GPA SEEP for my Soviet dog mine team doing the same thing fun watching tanks and heavy armor just stop in their tracks not wanting to get within striking distance thinking they was going to get their first. SEEP is just an amphibious Jeep that wasn't very successful and so ended up being given to the UK and USSR as lend lease which with all the river crossings (Soviets) and low countries and tidal basin was much more suited to dealing with that type of terrain than regular Jeep types. I play it if it does not have armament than it has it's amphibious capability, if it is armed than it is just a regular Jeep as the US found out that with just a 6 inch free board putting anything other than 3 extra persons put the water dangerously close to the passenger compartment! Like 2 inches! And small arms can hurt you as most transports that are armored is open topped so you can just pin them to death 4+ pins with even small arms fire, and so stop them and what ever they are carrying dead in their tracks and hope to force them to at least waste a turn rallying both. Also with multiple weapons (other than the one that comes stock) you got to keep 1 to 2 soldiers on board to use them. So yes that M3A1 is good with 3 extra MMG's but is it worth it taking 2-3 soldiers from your squad in order to use them. And also if you do do this than those soldiers can not rejoin that squad during the rest of the game so they really are like casualties in their own right.

Good vid, and yeah, I have a German 750pts kill-all army that has 4 trucks with MMGs (plus 6 x 6 man squads, Medium mortar, Motorbike amd sidecar and officer with 2 guys (as a mini combat team with Stg44s all in their own right)) I load all the trucks to one side if the board with the motorbike, usually wipes and 'pins the life' out of that side of the board and allows me to switch to the other half of the board. That's 11 to 12 pins a turn I'm pumping out a turn, that usually drowns out all the enemy infantry and just leaves heavier armour to deal with. If its capture game with objectives far away then the trucks hold 2 squads each, so that gives me unloading 3 units against an enemy's one, eventually the enemy units are drowned in pins again. Love lorries, mobile MMG for 54pts compared to a MMG infantry team that's immobile for 50pts? It's a no brainer. Everything regular apart from the inexperienced mortar. Keep up the great work 👍🏻👍🏻

I was wondering. You mentioned mentioned using suicide anti tank teams to assault out of trucks. I was told you can't assault out of a vehicle. Is this true?

What is your opinion on cavalry, it gives a similar role if you only want to put a normal unit on the transport and on most armies it can charge?

I typically find cavalry just end up attracting bullets. Pulling off recce with them can be ok distraction. If you want to charge with them make sure they're vets. One thing they got going for them is they can advance 9 inch for 1 turn which could catch your opponent off guard.
