The people you suggest, are known spinners and skilled in distorting the truth. This video is not about that it is about explaining the standpoint of the EU nothing to do with politics as such. If you come away with the impression that the EU is the good guy you are probably right. Looking back to the start in 2016 the EU has been very consistent about it’s values and behaved in predictable way. Britain on the other hand has been anything but predictable just looking for ways to divide and conquer and failing miserably.

@@geoffallibone2270 Well read thanks. I would have voted to join the EEC in 72 if I had been old enough. No resentment nor regrets there. But having watched in dismay at the social and political disaster the EU have wrought in the last 25 years I realise that we as Europeans have been had over. Brussels has the same imperfections as any other centralized government, difference being we cannot change Laws or policies democratically, and each country is at the mercy of minority groups within the EU, for the EU has total power without a mandate. We also have to suffer the tax burden of what amounts to a dubious political experiment. A visit to the EU museum in Brussels is a bit of an eye opener to one who has been educated in the 'free' world. 'Corruption' is putting it mildly. Worse still is the contempt that is held for the poorest European Nations in the name of freedom. The Freedoms the EU offer are just beads for the Natives, Whilst essential and hard won freedoms are relentlessly eroded.

"The EU said. No, no, no. The money question is about settling the accounts from the past." After WWII Germany started to pay reparations. But they were starving, so we let them off. American presidents have repeatedly warned that EU countries are not putting into NATO the amount of troops and material that they had committed to. The UK did keep their promises. So very definitely it is a question of "settling the accounts from the past", and the EU has made no attempt at all to do this. The EU has debts to the UK.
