My recipie for Michelada has lime juice, worchestershire sauce, hot sauce, clamato, celery salt, tajin in the glass, and a couple olives. Some versions get REALLY wild, with beef jerky, a TON of olives, oysters, and shrimp.
@matthewhernandez69603 жыл бұрын
This man! You have to-have to-have to- have clamato. And the worchestershire sauce too, dont be scared to try it the proper way.

Topping classic strong/sour/sweet cocktails (as you would top them with soda water) with German style wheat beer like Hefeweizen works really well! For instance : shake 5cl London dry gin, 3cl lime juice and 2cl simple syrup and strain in a highball. Top with beer as specified above and garnish with lime wedge

Here in Texas, most Micheladas I see have a small bit of Clamato or tomato juice in addition to the lime and hot sauce, and sometimes toss the salt and chili powder in the glass too. It gives it a reddish-orange hue and it's my preferred way to drink them. However, versions of the drink are totally numerous, so folks should drink it the way they like it. Great episode, my friend. Looking forward to the next one!

Great video, as per usual^^. One question for future videos: Would you consider putting the specs of the drink next to the cocktail or underneath the name for the final shot of each drink (like 2:35 or 3:58 for example)? It makes it easier to remember a recipe, write it down or just take a picture for a visual reference. Especially for drinks with 5+ ingredients and different measurements.

check out famous russian beer cocktail, called "yorsch" (ruffe fish), it's just a beer with a shot of vodka. It's funny, because of people (students and other young people) drink it to be drunk asap), not fancy drink at all. So you should use cheapest beer and vodka. Not tasty, but it works. Also we have some "yorsch" games. Smth like make a yorsch with a shot of vodka, make big sip, pour vodka, mix, sip, again and again. When it becomes transluscent, pour a beer after sip, when becomes simply beer - repeat (not sure, if anyone could last one whole ring)

It wasn't a beer comp, it was a Bacardi comp. Bacardi used to produce a beer called Hatuey back in the day, so I did a cocktail with beer, Bacardi and I think lime and orgeat, served it in a Bacardi Breezer bottle and called it a Hatuey Breezer. It was really tasty, but ahead of its time, lol

You forgot the timeless libation ”bomb”/U-boat where you drop a shot glass of something like Jäger/irish cream/whiskey into to a pint of beer. Just make sure that the sum of the parts is worse than drinking them separately. Cheers!

Kopstoot means headbutt (I’m guessing because it hits hard?) Your pronunciation was quite off, but it’s a hard one to pronounce by guessing ;)
@RuairiGilles3 жыл бұрын
and if you’re not Dutch 🙄
@monika76843 жыл бұрын
Looool. Kopstoot must be like kop as you say in eng ‘pot’ and stoot has no “sh” and the o’s are just looooooong oooooooo - stOOOOt - kopstoot (meaning a knockout - kop (head) stoot); Duvel is also not duvELLLL, but Duuuuuuvel (U goes like “Ü” and V and L goes pretty hard, almost skipping E that sits in between).
@lttrbox3 жыл бұрын
"Kopstoot" would best be pronounced like "cups-tote" - or in the Netherlands we mostly say "Kopstootje" - "cups-tote-yuh", which is a diminutive to make it sound like less alcohol than it actually is... ;) Also; since I'm Dutch and I don't know or much care what the Belgians do: might I suggest trying a dry hopped lager in combination with a bols genever? That would be my ideal kopstootje. I'm sure you'd love it.
