Even in valmiki ramayana...in the description of ayodhya....it is described as temples have tall structures and they were nicely decorated too. In Mahabharatha also, romasa మహర్షి visits all teertha kshetras and describes their greatness to Dharmaraja. Temple structures came into existence with only gupta dynasty is false info.

Gods names taken from vedas. Vedas are only sanatana dharma. Shiva ,vishnu,durga, ganapati,rudra,bhairava etc etc all are taken from vedas Not puranas. Puranas are stories created at that time to understand vedas. Puranas are not authentic. May be she is wrong about temple building time but she is write about the concept of idol worship. Idk what archeological based evidence you talking about. All these ramayanam amd mahabaratham are written only after 6th century . She was saying there no structural temples which is old as 1st century . She is a historian to talk from evidence based perspective not stories that were wrote later. We had idol worship in South india but it was not part of vedic civilization its was later incomparated . Most temples that is build in Dravidian style architecture doent go beyond 3rd centuries
