Love your insight and the way you dig the essence (pun intended) of this video. BTW, I think Orelsan also played on the English (and also the alternative French) meaning of the word "essence", the innate nature of things and beings. In other words, the basics of it all (Basique is also the name of another Orel song). Since you're hip-hop heads I recommend you one of the best old-school French bands, Saïan Supa Crew. Raz de Marée, Angela, X raisons... these cats surely knew how to make pure bangers.

@@BeersBars I see the subtitles in French and therefore had to go to the settings. you just didn't see. Even if there is no English in the choices, if there is just 1 language you can translate. It won't be as good a translation as when there is English because it will be automatic translation but most of the stuff will be good. If the French subtitles are not automatic but written by a person, the automatic translation will be quite good. Except for expressions which will be translated literally. But you shouldn't do that if even the French subtitles are generated automatically, but in this song that wasn't the case. So you could have tried.
