Hey Dereck! Super happy to see you react to this. That last album by Orelsan was definitely such a banger, and I'm happy to see him deviate from his rapper persona a little bit. It feels a little more authentic to his actual beliefs than other albums. I can't help but notice that you're using an auto-generated translation for this video, and it got me thinking that if you ever need a translation for a french song I'd be happy to help! I've been speaking english fluently for a little while now, so if I can help in that regard that'd be super chill. Even if it's just checking that there's no mistranslation in the lyrics, or giving additional context. (As an example, he mentions "Poule Renard Vipère" at some point ("Hen Fox Viper") which is a children's game where people are sorted into three different teams named after animals. The Hens must catch the Vipers, the Vipers must catch the Foxes, and the Foxes must catch the Hens. He uses it as a simile to society where everyone is out to get someone, while worrying about getting caught themselves, which speaks to the overarching theme of society being constructed on distrust and a "get others before they get you" mentality.) There are many titles to discover in the career of *Orelsan.* *"Défaite de Famille"* - Family Defeat - pun in French with "des fêtes de famille" (Family Parties) which is pronounced the same way -. With a hilarious clip which stages a French family celebration which, with the help of alcohol, turns into a personal settling of scores. And where *Orelsan* plays all the roles of family members. On the other hand, you need an excellent translation to understand everything happening entirely.
