I've been obsessed with Sylvia's playing ever since she was a finalist at the Queen Elisabeth Competition last year. The whole quartet sounds fantastic playing one of my favorite Op 18 quartet! Bravo everyone

Bravissimo! 🌷🌷🌷🌷

The lady playing 1st violin introduced the quartet in at least 3 languages I think.... a polyglot entrance. I am all in favour.... beautiful playing in a beautiful concert hall.

"strijkkwartet"????? ok, then "quartettu de arcu" in Sardinian language, played by the "Goia Cuartettu de Amsterdam" . I'm sure you're even "happy" about this, but there are many other translations (which I don't want to post here ) that are NOT that pleasant ....come on, maybe a bit of the original thing would help, no? Just saying, but I' know already know the answer, so, save your "you close minded bigot old school..." etc....Thanks for reading this, and have a nice day.

very aggressive and "masculine" performance by an all female quartet. Are they trying to prove something?
@jsbach7774 жыл бұрын
nope, they have nothing to prove, they're sounding incredible as they are.
@colinguan76264 жыл бұрын
Aggressive, sure. But what is overly masculine about their playing? I think it is nicely balanced. Does this performance challenge your perceptions of gender roles?
@Ava-uc6eu4 жыл бұрын
this might be the most annoying comment i've ever read
@zarjakriznikunilj3 жыл бұрын
I actually felt that this performance offered a very nice contrast between a lightness of touch in the lyrical parts and firmness or even heaviness & agression in parts that call for that - of which there are quite a few in Beethoven's music. But I don't think anything was done distastefully, or was unnatural or exaggerated in any way.
