It's like I said in another comment to another video, the brothers "Scott Brothers Duo" will still end up in Hollywood, on movie screens. Because stars they already are.

Had I been in that church down in the pews quietly praying when the air was suddenly broken by the power of those two grand opening chords of the Eroica, I'd be leaving tears on the marble floor from the uplift and majesty of it all. One of those life moments you never forget...

Utterly splendid! An old friend reborn by this immensely talented gentleman. As with other Beethoven transposed by Jonathan Scott, this too sounds as it should always have been for organ. I wonder if a full orchestra, set in an empty cathedral with all that superb reverberation, would sound as sublime.

Very nice Pedal section. The great seems to be missing an independent 2-2/3' and 2' to complete the Diapason chorus. Too bed because the 2-2/3' can produce some interesting effects in combination with flutes and strings. Big husky organ, Nicely done. Amazing how 10 fingers and two feet when properly used can duplicate an orchestral score. Who more competent to use those devices than Jonathan Scott. He is the embodiment of Lynwood Farnham and Edwin Lamare all in one. Another great performance on an English/German organ. One would think after so many relocations that it would have been altered beyond all recognition. And to the unseen magician who bring us the sights and sounds of these magnificent buildings and organs - Thank you for you skill and sensitivity.
@epincion2 жыл бұрын
Good comment. Fortunately when the organ was installed (and enlarged) in this church in 1879 Eduard Schultz brother of Edmund (who was now very ill) came from Germany and supervised the reinstallation and brought the new additional ranks (for the pedal) with him so keeping the tone that of a German Romantic organ. Then there was again good fortune 24 yrs later when JJ Binns did the rebuild as he was a great admirer of Schultz and faithfully kept the tonal palette. So it really is that rare breed, a surviving a 19th century German Romantic organ and as such very valuable to the organ world. Beethoven plus Schultz plus Jonathan is a marriage made in heaven.

@@g.k.failla9389 Having followed the Scott brothers for several years I am well aware of who does what, how and why. What I don't understand it why you take it upon yourself to butt in where you were not asked to be. Rest assured, when next I want information regarding the action of the organ, wind pressure or cut up on the pip mouths I will contact you directly. Otherwise you should speak when spoken to. It is people like you butting in where you are not invited that has made this world the hell it presently is.

@@organbuilder272 What a rude overreaction. To begin with, the reply/comment wasn't addressed to you personally.
@organbuilder2722 жыл бұрын
@@marc49lewis Really - I guess you didn't notice that it is in the reply section under my name. Maybe it is abrupt. I don't like people responding to comments not made directly to them. I think the Brothers are aware of who does what and so are all the folks who regularly come to view these incredible performances. There is no need for some busy-body to but in giving a bio on either of the brothers. And here here you are making a reply to me as well. and it is not correct either since you say it was not directed at me. It WAS in a REPLY to my comment about who did sound and graphics. if you read it carefully. It would be best if people concerned themselves with the subject and not comments made by other people. Wouldn't you agree - that way she wouldn't have replied to a comment NOT made directly to her and you would not make a comment containing an obvious error.
