It's so nice to hear the background extras getting a chance to talk on camera, and give a little back story to their character. Having done background extra work in the past you don't often get much chance to talk on camera.

It's a fecking crime he was so underused in the movie -- the same goes with Dafoe. They were just set pieces to add to the decor instead of being Integral to the (convoluted) story.

In these BTS videos, there appears to be an opinion that practical effects are superior to digital/CG. Having worked on a couple of Tim Burton films (with Neal Scanlan providing puppets), let me say that there is no right or wrong answer. CG is a tool, like any other tool, and is dependent on what needs to be accomplished. And I can almost certainly guarantee that with practical effects there will be some kind of CG element surrounding it (rig removal, puppeteer removal, green/blue screen, additional composites, etc.). I think anybody that bemoans CG and say practical is better (or vice versa) is not doing themselves, or the effects teams that work on CG and practical effects much injustice.
@michelerusso974517 күн бұрын
I think what most people are tried of is seeing cg being used where there's no need for it. If you look for example to any marvel movies, why the suits need to be cg? It's distracting and fake looking, where a character like dacy jones from pirates of the caribbean could only be achieved with cg. People is tired of over reliance of cg, which is of course a great tool
