Best part in original was when Beetlejuice knocked over that tree after kicking it, which wasnt supposed to happen, and Michael Keaton improved the line "NICE F__KING MODEL!"

It’s so bizarre to see Michael Keaton speaking in his normal voice while being dressed and made up as Beetlejuice. The fact he can instantly switch to the character once the camera starts rolling is incredible.

It's cool getting to watch Tim Burton just give a framework to Michael Keaton and leaving the rest up to him, confident he can deliver. In contrast, Joaquin Phoenix, specifically his performance in Napoleon. It was erratic and nonsensical and left the rest of the cast confused and out of sync with what he was doing. Keaton is a gem!

Man, I must be missing something with folks liking this so much. It was fun seeing the characters again, but the sequel seemed all over the place for me. I didn't care for all the build up just to have things resolve so simply. Also didn't care for the casting of Justin Theroux. Just did nothing for that character. Willem Dafoe's character itself was cringe inducing, seemed tacked on, and he gave a rare bad performance playing it. Sequel seemed mediocre at best for me.

In the new Beetlejuice Beetlejuice movie, Michael Keaton (Beetlejuice) character is a way to lay back and calm. In the first movie, Beetlejuice had more comedic energy. In the new movie, it seems like Beetlejuice has lost his edge/mojo. He wasn't as funny either 😔.
