His first feature. So funny how Singles was his first real introduction to the mainstream ala Cameron Crowe. Just kidding he did Batman before and I think by that time was prepping Planet of the Apes.

Dude, I kind of threw up in my mouth when you called Tim Burton's Dark Shadows movie, "satisfying." I know...to each their own. I am just teasing. Anyway, thank you for this review. I am glad to hear that Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice did not suck.

That’s one of those movies that I actually liked even though I can recognize it’s not a good movie. I just got out of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, it’s way way better than Dark Shadows. If you like the original, it’s very close in terms of quality,

As a youngish movie freak, we know that people can still rock the house with great practical effects. We just gotta be curious enough to seek out movies like Terrifier or Psycho Goreman that scratch the itch that formed being shown movies like Beetlejuice and The Goonies as kids by Gen X parents. I’m glad to see that a big studio release is finally picking up the mantle though, it’s been too long.

Took my girlfriend last night. We both enjoyed it! Plenty of laughs and great creativity!! Definitely laughed when it came to how they used the word Fuck in a PG-13 film. The Willem Dafoe character’s catchphrase ‘Keep it Real’ felt like a meta joke of using practical effects over cgi.

That’s a relief. Burton has a habit of going overboard in his sequels. We can always revive the Beetlejuice cartoon.

Thank you! I don't understand at all why gina davis and alec Baldwin aren't in this. I was under the impression that they couldn't leave the house and became the most important people in Winona ryder's life. And they don't even acknowledge it! They could have maybe gotten different actors and made a supernatural reason why they look different...as cool as it would have been to see the two return. Seems weird.

I became a big fan of Jenna wearing the white underwear in X. I can watch her 24/7 compared to Anya Taylor. Jenna has that on-screen appeal that just lures me to her. To me, she is a young Angelina before all the fame. Can't wait for Jenna to lead her own franchise action hero role in the future.

I saw this tonight and absolutely loved it and I thought that little baby Beetlejuice was hilarious and also was kind of disturbing for a PG-13 movie and I also thought when they used their one F-Bomb allotment for a PG-13 was absolutely hilarious too when Beetlejuice stamps the ghost’s card and says “see ya fucker!!!” or “Got ya fucker!!!!” Whatever the exact phrasing was I don’t remember all I remember was laughing my ass off so hard and a lot of Michael Keaton’s one-liners actually worked for me like “Now she’s back and she’s pissed.” Which, shouldn’t be so funny to me just a simple vulgar comment like that but, it actually made me almost piss my pants with laughter much like several other sequences in the film where Beetlejuice was involved.

Movies are NOT too long. You have confused the menu with the dinner. I have never seen a movie I liked that didn't benefit from the extra time, but countless movies have been made absolutely terrible by trying to edit them to a certain runtime. A bad movie isn't made any better by extending the length, and most movies are mainstream, and they aren't very good. That's the actual problem. A 'bad' movie simply doesn't get any better, so a longer version of a bad movie only prolongs the pain. But if I am going to make reservation to go to the movie and drive to the movie theater and sit through previews, and then here's some movie critic blather on about it.... then trust me, I can handle the movie being 15 - 20 - 30 minutes longer. I think/know that in the past this was often a function of film as a medium, and a function of the tediousness of the editing process, along with shipping reels of film. Now, the same content can be produced for less pain and less effort.

Tim Burton is a poor film maker now. He seems to be very formulaic. I think he doesn't try anymore to do anything decent and this film is just very average. A typical Hollywood movie that is filled with so many repeated ideas that if you are a seasoned movie watcher, you feel nothing because you are so familiar with it that it bores you to your very soul.

I hated the shit out of this movie. Keaton was great as Beetlejuice, but the other 90 minutes were complete dogshit. Burton needs to retire.
