Beetlejuice Beetlejuice… The Sequel 2024 - Review

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice was OK as a sequel, IMHO, but not great, nowhere near as good as the original. The entire soul sucker subplot could be completely removed, and it wouldn't have negatively affected the movie. They also seemed to pull way too much from the cartoon series while vaguely keeping the facade of the original movie only. Just a little too wacky and zany. Drop in the overuse of songs in place of an actual sound track, it felt like they were channeling the original Ghostbusters movie, but in a bad way. If you don't compare it to the original, it's OK for as far as recently produced movies go. But knowing what they could have done with a darker tone and more coherent storytelling...

I totally agree. It was entertaining, but it was firing off in every direction. I felt like it was rushed and could have been closer to the story of the first one. The way that Geena and Alec’s characters were dismissed was abrupt to say the least. I had low expectations and came out satisfied for what it was, but it could have been way better - especially if a sequel would have seen the light of day in the 90s.

BEETLEJUICE BEETLEJUICE BEETLEJUICE (The Third And Last Beetlejuice Movie) Where BJ Actually Tries To "Evolve" From Villain To Hero. And I'm So Rooting For The "Ghost With The Most" To Kinda Step Up, And Start Acting Like The Kind Of Friend, And Hero Lydia Deetz Needs Him To Be. In Fact I Think Beej, And Lyds Should Set Their Differences Aside And Start Working As A Team Alongside Astrid (Jenna Ortega) To Save Both Worlds Of The Living, And The Dead. Also Beetlejuice Has Just Gotta Succeed In His, And Lydia's Wedding You Remember What Wynona Ryder Said in That One BTS Interview.

Dude, I love that premise, and it would be a fitting end to a trilogy. Hopefully they’ll wrap it up like this. My popcorn is ready 🍿 I’ll checkout that BTS
