3:04 Actually... that's not a dinosaur. That's Lydia's mom's sculpture from the movie. Kinda odd it's here, though.... Was that sculpture even in the cartoon? Oh and. The final level music.... I'm pretty sure it's a remix of "Dayo". Fitting, because you'll "wan go home" after playing that mess.

Believe it or not, "Fat Baby Monster" is actually from an episode of the cartoon, except in the cartoon he was called "Great Big Fat Baby". And, no, I'm not joking, the resolution of the episode's A-plot involved Lydia yelling "Great Big Fat Baby!" to summon him.

I'm always impressed with how you genuinely complete these games. I never played Beetlejuice as a kid, but from first impressions it reminds me of every other Western-developed Gameboy game. Something like a Jurassic Park or James Bond. The game you'd rent at the video store along with the respective film and after watching the movie as a family, you'd play the game only to realize how agonizingly difficult it is. No saves, no continues, no hope. The perpetual "first level" games where you'd be lucky to even see level 2.

8:55 - Yes, my old friend Lonely Gomba, spot on. It is indeed a Rareware game when it features a mine-cart level, and just like in Donkey Kong Country, your character dies when landing on the track (?). That has since DAY 1 when the game came out back in 1994 bothered me. Why you die, and can't continue on if you slightly hit something, and your character just dies when touchin the tracks, like there is no way anyone can walk on these tracks, like they are made of lava or consentrated acid....stupid Rare logic. But yeah, serious Rare was awesome ;-). Some games could be challanging yes and others could be a great entertainment experience.

My dear Goomba. I played this game. I know what you went through. And I can't believe you actually beat it. I mean, I beat it - with save states on an emulator. And still it drove me insane. The first 3 levels each got better (actually, I enjoyed Level 2 a lot, once I got the hang of it). But Level 4... Like you said - why even have a live bar at this point?! And then Level 5?!? That is the most difficult thing in Game Boy History, I am certain. Especially with no continues! You only get some tries - and then you have to start the WHOLE GAME again, before you get another try!!!!!! Beetlejuice is my favourite movie (it actually is) and then I played this game... LJN man, I tell you. Goomba - Chapeau for actually getting through this game. I could have never done that. This is an achievement!
