I love the attention given to some of the less-reviewed offerings. Thank you!

I apologized for not subscribing to your channel sooner. I find myself coming back to see your videos when searching for everything plate carrier related. You bring great content that is not often seen. Thanks!

My side wings are the perfect addition to my rdr gear placard. Perfect blend of support and flexibility with the Laminate build. Let’s me add a radio (left), velocity Diddie dump , then on the right a emdom admin pouch and I run the mini T bag in arid underneath I really like how the flap locks it in so I don’t feel like it’s gonna fall off, and it keeps it extremely stable with a harness or without. It also keeps all the weight distribution very stable across the width of the front.

Havent tried the side wings. But their chest rig kicks @&&. (Padded harness highly recommended!)

Was curious how it compared to thing 2

Same because the thing 2 is perpetually out of stock. Did you end up buying this? If so, how is it?

This one is available on my IG sale page. It’s a more flexibly but potentially more expensive thing 2.

I don't really like the way you have to attach the micro to it. Defeats the purpose of having a micro you can quickly swap to a plate carrier. The Thing 2 is definitely the better option in my mind; it's rigid, easier securing method for the micro, and it has swivels on the shoulder strap attachment point so it conforms better.
@brownsmock7392 жыл бұрын
It doesn’t defeat the purpose at all. Just take the rig off with the side wings? Wouldn’t you configure them to your micro? So that makes no sense. It doesn’t need swivels at a smaller attachment (2 cells like shown) But on 3 and 4 cell it has angled attachment for harness. The tegris isn’t good for this application on a side wing and is too rigid. The laminate flexes better and wraps the body much better. The battle of stiffness and rigidity they are not the same. And fun fact, beez came out with this before spiritus. For all those to say beez copied them.

@@brownsmock739 I'm talking about the flap that has to go inside the main pocket of the micro. You'll have to detach one side of your inserts to securely attach it, whereas on the Spiritus you just put the micro's male buckles through two sewn in loops. The swiveling attachment points on the Spiritus also takes into account of different body sizes, not just the actual size of the chest rig. Some rigidity is preferred when you're carrying a lot of stuff. It keeps sections from sagging and flopping around as much if the rig isn't cinched really tight, and helps distribute the load more evenly and lessens wear on the material.

@@ExplosiveFetus this just sounds like a bunch of cope if I’m being honest. And for the rest of the points it sounds the same as well. The doubled over and folded laminate gives really nice rigidity and the perfect blend of stiffness.

@@brownsmock739 It still defeats the purpose of having a quickly swappable placard if you have to tear off half of the mag insert and it's not quick or intuitive at all. Might as well just get a hard sewn or MOLLE chest rig at that point.
@brownsmock7392 жыл бұрын
@@ExplosiveFetus I don’t understand even remotely what you are saying? Just leave the micro rig attached to the side wings? Why are you switching inserts that often? You can take the side wings off the carrier just as easy as any other placard. I think you’re really confused man
