Before & After Modernization: Otis/TKE Hydraulic Lobby Elevator at Two Union Square in Seattle, WA

It's been 5 years since I've been to Seattle and a LOT has changed since then! And pertaining to elevators, since my last visit to Seattle, ALL of the elevators at Two Union Square have now been modernized by TKE Elevator (formerly Thyssenkrupp). Originally Otis with Newer Lexan fixtures, the Main Elevators (which were Elevonic 401s) that serve the Tower are now TK AGILE while this elevator and the Parking Elevators now have MAD BS COPs on this inside, but have AGILE Panels for the call stations! As to why they did this, I have NO IDEA, but it's definitely interesting.... It even still has the "Dover trick" despite how recent this mod is and the fact it uses a Touchscreen Call Station which usually changes how the logic behaves.
This modernization isn't too bad, while I do much prefer the original Newer White Lexan fixtures, Series 2 style indicators, Motor and Vanity Call Stations the original elevator had, the New Mod here is by no means bad and it's definitely quite unique! Now, that all being said, given this is just the lobby elevator, I could care less about this one being modded....My feelings about the Main Elevators here being modded now are MUCH MUCH Stronger than how I feel about this particular one being modded even though I do find the mod here to be good albeit very unfortunate regardless to which elevator you're referring to.
With that being said however, I hope you enjoy this video, featuring NEVER BEFORE RELEASED Footage of this elevator before the Mod as well as some Fresh Footage of this Elevator after it's rather unique and interesting albeit still unfortunate mod! Installed in 1989. (Otis 211 with Newer White Lexan fixtures)
Modernized in Circa 2020 or 2021. (TKE Elevator with New Motor, New Cab, New Controller, New Call Stations, New Lanterns, MAD BS Moon fixtures, etc. Only the outer doors were left original.)

The mod is nice but still stinks to see another Otis Lexan gone. The touch screen call button is neat. It's still weird to see how Schindler, Thyssenkrupp and Kone all use Mad fixtures these days.

I mean it's not the worst mod I've seen done by TKE (trust me... I've seen WAY WORSE by them than this); but it's definitively one of the more interesting ones I've seen thus far. I mean you do got to admit; the new hall lanterns and stuff do look very European. And also it sounds like the FINALLY got rid of the old Dover chime. (Although it does still have the Dover trick though...)
