Martin didn’t lose his memory he had a mental breakdown. He never found Finn, likely thinking he died at sea. He couldn’t get back to Minerva because of the Guardian and that the Seekers would not go easy on him for actually escaping. He ran when Finn came back because he couldn’t handle his failure to find him. And he kept running to places unknown.

I agree, opposite to Paxw perspective, i don't think Martin just "gave up" his life with Minerva and Finn because he saw an opportunity to become a con man again a revert to his ways before meeting them, i think the storyboard image of the pirates worried abour Martin's concussion pretty much says it all. After what happenned, all the trauma he went through and the concussion, he reverted to his old self, not caring for other people or at least hidings his true feelings, but i'm pretty sure its the concussion that changed him that much, serious concussions can 100% causes personality deviations like this and it even happenned in real life, when a person was completely normal and had a decent life, then some accident happen and that person changed completely. I very much disagree with Paxw theory here.

It's very simple why Finn didn't grow his arm back, his arm wasn't magic being dispelled and ripped off someone's being, unlike ice king and Betty. I don't know why people look into this one so hard, when it's pretty obvious Golb was consuming the chaotic magic, the madness that Golb feeds off of.

@@somerandomplastyk if you go back and watch the episode where finn uses the nerd glasses to impress the princess, he mentions the scientific name for DMT, dimenthaltriptomine. Its also been researched that DMT is in our bodies as we make this chemical and is correlated with how we dream. It's widely theorized that we release the full load of this drug that we have in our bodies and this helps us as we die, hence the scene of old finn flying through the abyss and seeing Golb when he dies.

I think Golb is a nightmare version of Prizmo. The blocks around his head look like pieces of the time room, and he's about destructive change, while Prizmo is supposed to be 'helpful' change.

It's been awhile since I've bindged Adventure Time, but remember how Simon did a spell to apologies to Betty in the past? And she came thru the portal that was created? I think that would add on to ur theory of what Betty did and why she fused with Golb and why's he's there. Betty shouldn't have been in the present???? I mean I'm just thinking of how yk people say don't time travel cuz it can mess with things? Wellllllllll Betty came from the Paast into present time oo And if Golb helps keep the balance in the multiverse it makes sense why Betty and him fuse and promptly leave. -her wish to keep Simon safe, and Golbs 'goal' of balancing the multiverse back to normal. I'm aware I'm probably pulling imaginary strings and forgot to exact the terminology used in the video above, but it's a fun theory :)

You could even argue he's even kind of a classic tutelary deity in that his chaos could ultimately be to bring out the harmony in others in order to oppose it, and in fact helps them grow into the very kinds of beings who create a stable, harmonious multiverse-Maybe the way he prunes rotten branches of existence is by creating situations that force people to learn to maintain that stability. That sounds awfully harsh from an individual human perspective but to an immortal cosmic being that might seem like the most obviously elegant & beneficial way to do things.

Right? And I think for Adventure Time to not exist, it would mean that a lot of other shows wouldn't exist. Ward, along with JG Quintel and Alex Hirsch made their initial mark on Cartoon Network by working on The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack. Seems to me, that in order for Adventure Time to get picked up, Flapjack probably had to exist. So, for Adventure Time to not exist, that would mean Flapjack would probably not have had to exist, which by extension would mean that Regular Show and Gravity Falls would probably not exist. And then moving forward, Steven Universe wouldn't exist without Rebecca Sugar having worked on Adventure Time, Quintel's later show of Close Enough wouldn't exist, Ward's other shows of Bravest Warriors and Midnight Gospel wouldn't exist (maybe Midnight Gospel would have, but with a completely different artstyle), and a bunch of other shows with loose ties to all of this probably wouldn't exist: Clarence, OK K.O., Over the Garden Wall, Infinity Train, Bee and Puppycat, The Owl House, Amphibia, Craig of the Creek, Summer Camp Awesome, and I'm probably missing more. Point is, it's insane to think how crucial Flapjack was to the existence of so many modern classic cartoons, with 3 of the biggest: Adventure Time, Regular Show, and Gravity Falls being direct results of those that worked on that series.

Around 7 mins when you refer to the mountain scene with margles that wasn’t the real margles, that was a security system built by magic man to defend mars that looked like margles and went haywire because he “made it from his nightmares”. this video is great but I feel like its all set up to lead to a big reveal or dramatic reveal, or the whole video is CRAZY THING *build up sound effect* oh but you thought that was bad?... but hold on... you're not ready for this... BUCKLE UP because THIS is gonna make you feel (emotion) Like constantly trying to top the last, and I swear I hear that build up sound effect only a few seconds between each other at some point. The part two feels less educative and more YOU WONT BELIEVE THIS so it doesn't feel like I'm taking anything away, alot of things in the video blend together when you do that too like a never ending tangent instead of nice sections that felt properly dedicated like in the first video. I always assumed that Golb is similar to Evergreen’s crown. That is to say it’s less a “being” and more like a “device” perhaps a product of the collective will from age of monsters similar to the Citadel. Basically when the Monsters finally decided in what the universe should “look like” not only did they need a “prison” and “enforcers” they also needed a *sheriff* That’s Golb.He’s basically the boss of the citadel’s enforcers. I’m fact I would stir that the citadel is an extra dimensional space and that holds insides lead to it. Did you ever wonder why when leaving pillow dimension that Finn bounces *specifically* off of *golb’s tongue* ? Was it really that Golb was looking confused at him from behind? Seems like Finn didn’t su much “bounce off” of golbs tongue but rather that he was, for whatever reason, rejected by the mechanisms of Golb’s design but confusing the “pilots” aka possibly the people formerly absorbed a la Betty. You know what. Never mind. I think I might just write my own script.
