Carmelo Anthony was one of the best all-around scorers the league has ever seen. In his prime, the debate was often between him and Durant. He is widely known for playing for the Denver Nuggets and the New York Knicks. But now as a retired NBA player, Carmelo has been vocal about how he rather win an Olympic gold medal than a championship. This led to a lot of controversy. In this video, we will go over exactly why Carmelo's own decisions hindered his chances of winning a ring.

Melo wasn’t “too good” to be a side kick at all. He would have been a perfect side kick actually. Melo was never that superstar dawg who would make a team title contender. Dude if Melo went there then Miami win 4 straight. Even with Lebron having a meltdown in the finals, Wade and Melo would be too much for Dallas. And Melo had way more gas in the tank than Wade and Bosh had. Wade was on the dip from 2013 and Melo was still elite at that time and for a few years after so who knows. Maybe Bron stays and they win even more in Miami.

Nah, Carmelo was greedy and wanted all the money available to him. In reality he should have done a wilder version of what his peers did earlier in his career and took the veterans minimum and been the 4th man on the Heat and they would he would have won those 8 championships LeBron was talkin about atbthat pep rally. Then he would have been a "legend" like the rest of them.

After seeing two teams basically cheat their way to a championship, Carmelo realize that the only way that he was going to win a championship was to team up with somebody like, LeBron James and the Golden State warriors did by recruiting Kevin Durant.

I'm glad he didn't join LeBron and Wade in miami that wouldn't have made his legacy same way it taints both LeBrons and Wades. Teaming up with 3 top 10 guys in their prime doesn't make you great. But Melos weakness was never becoming great on defense being one sided on the court never wins the ultimate prize. 09' nuggets was his best team but Kobe existed and ain't many better than him. Plus the move to the Knicks gutting the roster was dumb af

He chose right by following his own path except that he could have made better decisions within the path he chose. He had really good people around him too throughout his career. But even if he made the right decisions, like not thinking only about money or letting his ego get in the way, he still would never have won a championship anyway. He was a very good player, no doubt about it. But he isn’t THAT guy.
