A chameleon video where the person isn't forcing the animal to climb on them outside of their comfort zone. That's a thumbs up for that alone. Edit: he also doesn't look overfed like most pet chameleons are, well done GJ caring for it.

Hey! I hope you or someone else who has experience with chameleons (sorry armchair experts, not today) because I need advice. There's a local pet store that I frequent and they've had this one male veiled chameleon for a while now, almost three months. They claim he's aggressive but when I tried to approach him I realized it wasn't necessarily aggression as much as it was defensiveness. He flares his usually dull blue patterns into jet black and he begins puffing up and hissing and then will start striking. They can't get another chameleon in until he goes. I would get him myself but I feel as if he needs someone with experience to help him. Any tips?
@SamGlife7 жыл бұрын
Kayla Abaza hmm interesting,well you need to pretty much know how to do the basics and the necessary needs the chameleon needs.What your saying does sound like he's 100% defensive and it really isnt that hard to overcome but it will take alot of patience and time
@dillpicklefig7 жыл бұрын
SRGexotics Thank you, I've been reaching out to chameleon owners on KZbin and Instagram and all seem to say the same thing. I'm willing to put in the time and patience to help the little guy but I'd have to get my boyfriend on board with it haha. Anyways, thank you for the response!
@ingetvetblyat807 жыл бұрын
chameleons are far from forgiving so if humans have treated him poorly it will be hard. but if you get him dont give up. And normally i advice people to buy chameleons that are just a few months old because if they live in one place and move to another they will most likely always miss going back to the place they came from.. therefor it can sometimes be hard to make him adapt to you and the setup you will have for him at home. BUT it is possible to train him and every chameleon have different personalities. Some will always like to be alone doesnt matter how healthy and nice you are and some will be more social. So with the dedication you seem to have you seem to have a shot with him. If you have any more questions i will do my best to help, good luck with the cham!

Clay Soggyfries if the chameleon is your only pet obe seen people do a wall decore with man plant amd brances. (No cage). Not sure if that will be expsensive but is a possibility. I suggest tho that of you don't have the money for ome don't get one untill you are sure you can care for it.maybe go for a smallr lizzard that requires a smaller space. You can also do a diy enclouser which can be cheaper.
