It's true to be sure you are ready. It was 23 years since we had a puppy. Our puppy is pretty calm and makes good choices because we are monitoring her. My husband had to travel for work during our 2nd week and I ended up with a bad cold. It was hard being on 24/7 puppy duty while being sick. Putting in the time and consistency is really important. Our puppy is 10.5 weeks and able to sit/stay/come and down/stay/come with just hand signals while another puppy is outside along our fence line. We are able to throw her floor across the tile floor (which makes a sound) and her leave it until we release her. We feed every single piece of kibble with training or in a food puzzle/toy. We feed/train in all rooms of our house and different areas outside. It is well worth the time and energy.

Our current puppy has the best behavior of all the dogs we’ve had over the years. No chewing on any household items, just his chew toys. Housebroken in 5 days. Super fast learner. Sleeps through the night too. He’s a blessing.

@mccanndogs We are adding a second dog into our home. Our first dog sleeps on his mat all night long in our living room. Our first dog doesn't come into our bedroom. I am concerned about bringing the puppy into our room and our first dog becoming jealous. Advice please?
