This is excellent advice, and I have considered almost everything in this decision journey. One thing it lacks is advice about ministry staff/leaders who feel burnt by both ministry demands and senior leadership. I guess you can take the principles and add them to context, but I would love to discuss with someone who has been in the same scenario. But great words, though.

@@justin.shipley yes, I think in some ways that could be a separate video... Either way, feel free to message me. I'd be happy to chat offline.

I’m a deacon. I was asked 3 times before I said okay. Shortly after I became extremely busy with a side ministry doing free maintenance for the elderly. This quickly became overwhelming. Then a family member passed away and i need to help an aunt. This has overwhelmed me so much i can hardly go to church without feeling like there’s more chores to do. I just want to rest at Church.

I'm currently experiencing consistent hurt from a fellow youth leader, we were so close during the start of the ministry in the Philippines, along the way we had series of arguments due to the youth handling, we had bitterness and constant hate. Though it hurts, I keep on asking for forgiveness, he said it's nothing but his actions shows that he is avoiding me. My family is still attending the same church. Last year I came to Israel to work, but still connected with them online. I've been praying about leaving the ministry totally and go back to the first church where I met the Lord because the environment is very unhealthy for me anymore, my faith and obedience to God is being contaminated, and it's really hard. I just want to focus on my plans here (which was my answered prayer to come here in Israel) that is to do vlogging while sharing the Word. This video is helping me. Thank you so much dear brother. If you have any more advice please share it with me. Thank you 😊 God bless 😊

Being in/remaining in/leaving the ministry is by the will of God. It’s a spiritual not primarily a vocational reality

HI Nicholas, can't say I disagree. Is there something from the video that makes you think/feel otherwise?

It would be interesting for you to make a video on why you left the ministry. Do you still preach and teach the word? Do you mean that you left the ministry in the sense that you don’t pastor any longer, but still minister the word? Do you feel as though you were never called to preach to begin with? do you think that you will ever be in pulpit ministry again? Did you see the ministry as a career rather than a supernatural call from God? It would be a very interesting video as one that has preach the gospel for many years. I have worked secularly, but I could never imagine not preaching and teaching the word. I knew I was called to preach from the time I was like three years old, but I also know that many ministers are in the ministry not because they were called of God, but because it was a career or something to that effect. It does not burn within them. I have been discouraged at many points in my life, and maybe there were a few days where I did not feel like preaching, but it always comes back. I also know that many ministers do burn out for various reasons and sometimes need a break. Would love to hear your thoughts on this.

I’m not sure why there’s no response to your question but the only reason why anyone should be in the ministry (and remain or leave) is the will of God. Ephesians 1:1 Greeting [1] Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God…

Ryan, great questions and I appreciate you asking. May be great for a follow-up video, as it would be a lot to type out. I do appreciate you watching and hope it was helpful to you. The purpose of this video, is to help those who should stay/or leave a "ministry position" do so without making a drastic decision or one that they may regret.
