Way back when, i was able to beat 6stars with grade 4 weps. The keys is making great gear by only having 1 piece from each monster. My build was kulu head/jagras chest/rathian gloves/barroth coil/kulu pants. (Keep kulu head at only g4) once i was able to get a rathalos head that became the head piece to level. Having crit eye/attack boost/burst/rising tide gives you the damage you need without the high grade weps. And when you do get higher weps the battles just go faster which means more battles. With this setup you then can focus 1 monster per weapon. Girros/pukie (substitute for water for a bit while you struggle to find mudkip) anjanath for fire, tobi for thunder, jyros(mudkip) for water Im currently hr93

Don’t listen to him!!!!! If you don’t beat Rathalos, you can’t farm him for his weapons or armor. It’s the best armor is his with weakness exploit… I beat all the monsters with the Diablos bow… I hade evade extender 3. Once you beat the story. Just don’t fight any purple stars till your confident. After you beat the story you get daily missions that give you materials you need to level up!!!! Farm Diablos for a strong weapon… I just don’t get hit with evade extender and artful escape…. After you beat the story there are rarely any purple stars out there just just the weaker monsters you can handle. I just at least ten monsters every hunt…what ever level you are hunt don’t hunt the highest star monsters. I’m at hunter rank 45… chapter 6. Don’t waste your time beat him and farm him… diablos armor is only good if you take damage, Rathalos armor boost damage over all.

I'm just starting out hr46 and just beat the rathalos. What armor would you recommend? All one type or a combo of different ones? I prefere sword and shield but I have the poison gunlance I've been building as well as the bone crusher. This type of game is new to me so sorry if I'm asking stupid questions.

I like the blooming blade for starters. Love the poison. It keeps them flyers low so i can hit them.

That Diablos invasion event sounded like fun constant healing potion. No matter how upgraded your weapons were, also I heard Capcom is developing MH 6 for next year.

Defense is not the key to playing monster hunter. It is a good training wheel. But dodge and learn monster attacks is key. Beat the bosses as soon as you can. Do not delay. The side quests give you equipment upgrade material you won’t be able to find until you beat the game. This will allow you to not only save up these materials until you can use them in the future. It will also allow you to start tackling the 6 star monsters that’s you can handle. Aka Great Jagras. Etc. Enjoy the game. But do not stop just to grind.

Diablos armor is doodoo for anyone not using hammer. You don't get KO damage with sns besides shield hits.

Ya know, it's a decent point, but it's still the highest protection you can get until you clear the story once...

@@MrHartgrave I just prefer to get skills that compliment my weapon, I've always been one to go for a glass cannon build. Lol. Focus on upping my damage output and learning monster movements so my defense doesn't really have an impact on my fight. My aim is to get no damage runs every time. Lol. So focusing high defense is a crutch for me.

@@emojo5619 You can't be complete glass in this game. Because in order to become cannon you need +5 elemental damage and for that you need to push some armor parts to grade 6.
