Before you sign a waiver.

There are times when you will be asked to sign a specific waiver or a contract will contain a waiver provision. In this video we explain what that means to you and what you should check and know, before you sign.

My sister wants my mom and my sisters to sign a waiver. I believe she won’t let us read it or show us a copy of whatever she wants us to sign but my question is does that expire?

A waiver pertains to an act or event so would then be binding according to what it says. Never sign anything that you are not able to read and which is not complete (no blanks) before you sign.

I'm hoping you can advise- my husbands grandma passed recently and the will we found is from 1996 when her husband was alive so his daughter is named executor. My husband is named in the Will, for something else. Will he be reached out by probate court? And if so, if we don't sigh the waiver that probate court gives, what happens?

HI @Jodee New set of videos coming on this topic. Depending upon the types of heirs and property left behind you may or may not have to file the will and if that is needed there are time limits. Contact a local probate attorney and learn your rights before signing anything. Sometimes the waiver is just for extra mailing notice or hearings and can save time and money but you need to know before signing.
