This series was so much fun to watch over the years -- thank you for all the time and energy invested into this project!!! For what it's worth, I've played many of these as well though almost always solo if that option is available and my top three are, (1) Nusfjord, (2) Fields of Arle, (3) Caverna. Going back to Nusfjord is like a fresh cup of your favorite tea/coffee on a cold morning...it's hard to explain but I get a very cozy feeling from it every time and the simplicity of the core mechanisms is, for me, among its biggest draws. At any rate, thanks again!

Loved this series. I don’t care how long they take to finish. I am here for the journey and exploring. Hope you continue with other designers - even if they take five years or never complete. 🙂 These videos help me so much in figuring out what to try - and when. They also make those big name designers games seem much more approachable. So thank you for all the hours that went into these.

I absolutely love Hallertau, it's my favourite Uwe design. Amusingly enough I have only ever played it solo, and perhaps that is one of the main reasons I love it so much, because it feels like just this one big puzzle to figure out. I get the card luck critisism, but I'm not that bothered with the luck of the draw there. I love trying to see what I can do with whatever I get. Another reason I am so endeared with it is that it's so far the simplest big box Uwe designs to set up and tear down, at least out of the ones I have played. I used to own Caverna a bunch of years ago, and I enjoyed it, but sorting through the dozens of dozens of building times in that game nearly did me in. I pride myself in sorting my games and streamlining the set-up process but I just could not find a way to do that with those building tiles. I am really interested in Fields of Arle, though now, after having seen your playthrough of it. Hope I can find myself a copy of it sometime.

I love that you did this series. Uwe is my favorite designer. I don't by any stretch own all of his games, but I own more of his games than any other designer. I currently have Applejack on pre-order. Thank you so much for your excellent teaches and playthroughs. I can't even imagine how much time you put into this, let alone any teaches and playthroughs that you do. You have to REALLY love games to do this, and I for one am SO glad you do! You have played a lot of Uwe's games, so you really don't have to justify the ranking. There are also emotions / events that can make a game special to one person and not another. I appreciate your list! Who else thinks that the dude on Nusfjord board game looks like Paul Hogan?? 😆 I agree with the "ramp up," conundrum with Feast for Odin. It feels like you are getting nowhere, and suddenly you are filling in those tiles.

I have played both Agricola and Caverna over 50 times each and at that point the replayability of (the old) Agricola kicks in. You have the E, I and K decks with the basic game alone. Then the "Farmers of the Moor" expansion launches the game into orbit. Sure, it is sometimes painful, but there are those of us who are actually into that, nudge, nudge, wink, wink.

That was very interesting, thanks a lot :) Regarding Fields of Arle: The Expansion Tea and Trade raises the player count to 3 players. Also, its one of these "never play without it again"-expansions that brings a lot to the game. The same is true even more for the Norvegians expansion for Feast of Odin... it smoothes out most of the little weaknesses of the base game.

As ever, a very enjoyable discussion from you both. Thank you. I always like the discussion versus straight presentation. I’m a long-time Uwe fan and own most of those games you went through. Of the few I don’t own, I have played all but one of them (Oranienburger Canal - I’m hoping for a reprint, but preferably with a different art style and square cards - the reasons it’s not part of my set). When asked by friends which is my favourite game, my heart has (since around 2008) said Agricola. We played that game for at least 2 years, every week without fail, at least once - often many more times. In recent years, as I’ve begun to curate my collection (rather than just collect), I’ve realised that there are several other games that compete with it and my head tells me that they are even, objectively, better. For this reason I think it’s wise to approach ranking with the tier system that you did. It’s clear you both favour A Feast For Odin (what a game!!), but I like the way you say, “these are all top tier”, with the subtext . In that respect my top tier (6 games) for Uwe would be (in no particular order…): - A Feast For Odin - The Fields of Arle (have you played Tea & Trade - it is superb, and there is the possibility of further expansion from the designer of Norwegians) - Agricola - Caverna (I designed an ‘extra-player’ bot last year which can be used for solo or to up-the-player-count for multiplayer games - it needs some more run throughs to improve, but it works very well) - Bohnanza - Le Havre I’m keen to hear your thoughts on Anachrony too - another game that competes for top tier ranking across all games.

Been really looking forward to this one! Wanted to thank you again for the series, after discovering a few Uwe games last year I also became interested in watching y'all play them which was both entertaining and was immensely helpful for me figuring out whether or not I was interested in them (which was usually a yes). Seeing Nusfjord pretty low does sting but I think you’re spot on about player count. The game was a hit in my gaming group and after many plays we found it really sung at 4p specifically. It was still fine at 3 and 5 but not enough competition at 3 and a little too long/chaotic at 5.

We only caught a few of the actual playthroughs from the games, but this wrap up was very interesting and the brief overviews of the games (and how they compared to each other a bit) was helpful. We've only played 5 of his full sized games ourselves here. Hallertau, Nusfjord, Glassroad, Caverna, and Le Havre. For me I would rank them (favorite first) Hallertau, Caverna, Glassroad, Nusfjord, and then Le Havre. We definitely want to eventually get to play Feast for Odin. My gf and I have only been in the hobby a few years so we're looking forward to you guys covering more older games that you still think are great. We like cult of the new as much as the next, but we also enjoy playing those older great games just as much. An old classic to someone else is new to us. You guys make great videos, and don't tell Rodney I said this (don't want the Canadian mafia sent after me) but you guys do as good of a job as he does at teaching games. We've been using a lot of your videos lately where you set up, teach, then play a game. If you don't mind me asking, what do/did you guys do outside of your channel & WIP?

After Glass Road, I'd put Feast for Odin, Agricola, Patchwork and Bonanza!

The boost you get with the harvests makes you feel just as fulfilled and the asymmetry of the harvest bonuses and the free occupation card play at the start really helps you with a big jump start and a strategic direction. You all gotta try it, you won't go back!

I'm curious to play with harvest mini-exp. Base game with 6 rounds was horrible for me.

Adds variable harvests, in addition, every harvest you get 2 bonuses, but when there is no harvest so still get 2 bonuses, just different ones from the opposite side of your tokens, so you'll always get something. Secondly in the 6 round version you get to draw 2 regular occupation cards and play 1 for free your first turn of the game. It's excellent and feels just as fulfilling as the 7 round.@@RaduStanculescu

This was such a fun series to watch. Despite watching almost every one...I've only ever played Patchwork Unfortunately, my playing partners (AKA friends & family) just aren't into euros & long games in general. But having watched your series, the ones I'm most interested in are definitely Nusfjord (I'm a sucker for the cute little fish meeples), Fields of Arle (because I play a lot at 2P), Caverna (which I've wanted to play since getting into the hobby) and of course, A Feast for Odin (the amount of love people have for this games is insane).

Great series and I understand the challenge with ranking all 18 of his games. I agree with Odin being at the top of the list without diminishing the others. I was really on the fence about backing Oranienberger Kanal but so very glad I did.

Thank you so much for your excellent coverage of Uwe’s games! One of my favorite designers. I have a hard time ranking his games, but Agricola holds a special place for me. It was our first “heavier” game, and it’s still great. With the big expansion and the deck expansions, there is just so much variety. I also enjoy Caverna a lot, and I am curious to see how the expansions change it up. Le Havre is excellent, though I only play it on the app. Fields of Arle is another one that often feels like a favorite. I adore Glass Road! Caverna Cave vs Cave is fun. Agricola All Creatures is nice enough, but we both decided we would rather play its sibling game. Loyang is one I play on Yucata. Not a favorite, but fun to play. Oranienburger Kanal is great so far, though I have only tried it solo. Atiwa is nice enough, but fell a bit flat for me. I think it is missing the variability I love in his other games.

I appreciate the reviews because I do really like Uve's games. I have La Havre and Agricola. I got Fields of Arle, which is now rare, off the used market and I need to try that. If that goes well I'll be looking to get Feast for Odin.

Thanks for doing this video. I like to think of Uwe Rosenberg as the Michelangelo of boardgames. If Agricola is the refinement and precision statue of David, then A Feast for Odin is extravagantly dazzling Sistine Chapel. The man has range.

Congratulations on completing the series. What a massive undertaking. I’m really looking forward to the mind clash series when it arrives. Regarding Agricola, I’ve played Agricola a lot. And I don’t think its as tough as people say it is. It’s tight but with experience I’m not scared of the game. What I appreciate most about it is that as your engine develops it remains tight - props to Uwe for programming it that way. I don’t believe you two have tried the farmers of the moor and I’d recommend that. It lifts the game. I think it’s back in print now but was hard to get for a while. I’ve only played four Uwe games and I’d rate them: 1. Agricola 2. Feast for Odin 3. Caverna 4. Ora set Laboura But I’ve only played Ora Et Laboura once and I need to give it another couple of tries.

Thanks for the list! Many of these we haven't played, but we'll probably look into now. I feel bad for hyping up Atiwa! It's a game I've really enjoyed, but from the perspective of someone who is very frequently teaching games to newer players.

I've played several hundred games of Agricola. There's a pretty healthy worldwide competitive scene for it on Board Game Arena.

I can really recommend Mini Expansion #2 for AFfO to flesh out the game and most importantly improve the 6 round mode. It is the only way I play now (obviously including The Norwegians)

Thank you for this helpful and enjoyable information! My own Uwe list is shorter: Nova Luna, PatchWork, Bohnanza, Agricola. All four are very good. I especially like the you-used-less-of-this-resource-so-you-go-next mechanism of Nova Luna and PatchWork. My kids picked up great negotiation skills from playing Bohnanza very early in life. The very many cards of Agricola provide direction and variation.

Great series! It literally caused me to buy Nusfjord and At the Gates of Loyang. I have only played 7 Rosenburg games so I'll give you my list and include the one tile game I've played in it. 1- LeHavre, 2- Nusfjord, 3- At the Gates of Loyang, 4- Sagani, 5- Ora et Labora, 6- Agricola, 7- Caverna. I can see why you ranked Nusfjord lower at 2 player. Get more folks! We have never played it at less than 5 players and it's a hoot. For me, Agricola and Caverna are pretty much the same, Caverna just adds more stuff and makes the game longer. Neither are bad per se but I can see both being moved down easily as other new ones come out. I've always wanted to try Feast for Odin, held the box in my hands a few times but it's sooo expensive, looks overwhelming and is only 4 player which is problematic in our normal 5+ player group. I can't find the Norwegians expansion either which is kind of a bummer. My wife and I are considering some 2 player games now as our group, which has been together gaming for 45 years now, is aging. It's getting harder to go out! LOL. Keep the great content coming!

Great video and series! I'm not the biggest Uwe fan; I find most of his games good but not really for me. However Oranienburger Kanal is by far my favorite. I love the decision spaces it offers, how fast it plays, and just how satisfying it is to complete.

This series was excellent. Really enjoy seeing content about older games. Have only played A Feast for Odin and Agricola. A Feast for Odin is near the top of my favorite games and Agricola is growing on me. I think Fields of Arle is going to be next, it looks really interesting.

Feast for Odin might be Uwe's magnum opus, but I think this series may stand as YOUR magnum opus! lol But f'reals, I think this has been some of my favorite content ever, and I've already leaned on a few of these videos for learning Uwe games, so I imagine they will continue to be indispensable for their utility but also for the entertainment value of just opening up my eyes to what euros can be (the Lacerda series also did that for me)

I agree with you two about Agricola. It's one of my top 10 of all games, but I rarely want to play it. It's so punishing! 😂 We play Caverna more as well.
