Many artists paint their canvases red before starting the subject. Is there a reason why you don’t?

They paint it white so they can see what colors they use but since he is painting white and blue ONLY it would make the painting pink, they use it as a background to make sure they don’t miss a spot but your only supposed to paint it green, red, yellow if it’s other colors are gonna fill the whole canvas
