That was something cool Steve! YLRC S135 is obviously a nice deal for the price! Less than 190 dollars with The drone, 3 batteries, rechargable controller, Laser Obstacle Avoider range finder and accessories! The 8K photo advertisements or something 'high resolution' video ads may attract beginners to buy some low cost drone and think that they will get results like that of Mavic 3 or Autel Evo II, but in reality, we professionals know that it is just converted into 8K and is not 'soo clear' as Prosumer or Professional drones, but is ofcourse satisfactory and pretty good for such budget fun drone! This drone's app just got me very nicely...lol The spellings and grammar right there is hilarious and the 'firmwareerr' also gets me every time, *lol* It must have been developed by some Chinese programmers, I think. Anyway, the drone flies nicely and the basic features are good too like follow me, VR mode and... Never mind, it does not have many features than also it is a great deal, not gonna lie. The secondary camera down there is also pretty funny as it viewed and showed the grass of the ground like it was something hellish dried hay kind of thing, again lol. But to be honest, it looks nice with that colourful lights and that Mavic Air 2S+ Mini 3 Pro, inspired body (It looks like their chimera/mixed budget beginner drone to me though) The obstacle avoider did a good job detecting those obstacles and it also looks cool as it reacts with the movement of the drone pretty immediately. But the most important thing of all is the moment when the Laser rangefinder was unable to avoid the thin branch of the tree, and hence the drone got smashed into it, but then also, it stabilized itself and stayed in the air like a boss! That was something I haven't seen in a while! Overall, what else can you expect to be in a drone at a price of 190 dollars!! So, definitely, it seems to be a reliable and durable drone for beginners, to me! Now, I am looking forward for a Mini 3 Pro review video soon! And As well as giveaway! B)

This actually looks like a better version of the k-911. The drawing looks extremely similar uses the same app and a very similar battery. The controls are different not much. I have the k-911 and I to tested that obstacle avoidance going into a tree and had the same result except I crashed. Very durable I must say after falling from about 50 ft. No damage other than the battery popped out. Great video and they are always great keep going!

I've got the s132 and it's really a good drone. My KS 11 has a lot of these features and they work really well but it has no gps.

For the $ that looks like a winner! With brushless motors, EIS, and a 3axis gimbal for that price it would be a way better start than my first gps camera drone a couple years ago. Video actually looked usable.

I think that's the best video I've ever seen you do, when you ran the drone into the tree, that was excellent. I can't believe it survived and kept flying. The lights are backward. If you are using them for orientation the red should be on the front (red you're dead) green on the back (green good to go)

Looks a lot like my Temu S132 drone. Mine doesn't have near that functionality or a gimbal and only records about 6 frames per second. But it was also $73. Still fun to fly. Excellent video by the way. Pleasure to watch.

Small drones like this are not designed to carry additional weight. It will cause them to fly poorly, and for a very short time.

Well Captain !what can I say!; its arguably clear that in this techno age its cheaper to produce a 3 Axis Gimble versus a true high quality video Camera !!!!; regardless, love the improvisation regards the Jeep "Landing" mat (I have used my Sunshade in desperation!!) and if all else fails; the Drone is a very effective tree trimmer!!!😅

I bought this model, I am not a beginner. With less than a month I lost it. It was flying without problems on a soccer field when changing batteries and it started to fly, everything was fine. After 10 minutes, it started to fly very unstable, then it started to accelerate at a lot of speed in increasingly larger circles. It flew very wildly, I tried to control it but because of the speed. Since it continues to increase, I raise it so that it doesn't crash, I lose the signal and I never saw it again. It was very strange how quickly the speed was increasing. Positive side I will buy the same model since I have more batteries, from Chile

This exact same thing happened with me but I had a different drone called the k911 it started going around in circles quickly increased the speed until it fell far away. Did you end up finding the reason that caused this?

If you have to turn on the controller first it probably has a WiFi repeater/booster/relay/thing/whatever.

Dear Captain. Can you please be on the lookout for a small drone with optical flow, controller (so you don't need a phone) , SD card slot, and onboard EIS without a gimbal (that can break). In other words a true pocket drone that is super quick to launch in less than 10 seconds. 80% photos, 20% video for selfies 20-30 meters away. Because the fact I have to get off my bike, get the drone out of the case, calibrate compass, connect to the phone ( you can't see in the Sun), wait for satellites, all takes too long. In real life you just don't bother and ride on.

Many first time drone pilots have a fear that the drone will fly off and be lost. I also worry that if I put an extra camera on it then that camera's radio might cause the drone to misbehave or fly off. Have you ever had one misbehave or fly off?

Thanks mate apriciate the review. The problem I face is in App manual. I can't find it and I can't find tutorial for it. Not sure what to do. It's advertised with many options and capabilities, but I can't use it. It seems to me that people got use to thinking that for $100-200 they get ripped of anyway. Usually the Apps on these low cost drones are similar. Once you use one you can figure them all out. Rarely are their instructions for the app because every drone company believes they are simple to use so they don’t spend money on manuals. Are you saying that After watching my video you still find that you are lost? My advice is to watch other reviews and perhaps you’ll see more info and things will begin to click for you. Best of luck. Just keep in mind that all new owners of a drone were in the same situation as you but eventually got the hang of it with time. As you saw in my review, this drone was not always responding to the app on my iPhone. Perhaps it works better on the Android app. If you want a drone with no headaches, get a DJI mini SE.

Your video's are informative enough and very helpful, but what I can't find is for someone to use every App software option and show it step by step. i could see some options on my Drone are trying to scan for something, however this process is unknown to me, so I can't complete it. I will get DJI Mavik 2 pro but not as yet, I need to get a bit of a experience first . I am learning to use it in the sea, while fishing, and sometimes we are 30-40km out chasing tunas and having no chance for mistake operating a drone. BTW It's my second drone. The specs quoted are not quite what we are seeing. That image looks more like 480p like a camera I used to own more than a decade ago. I cant imagine that there are really that many pixels in those images. I think budget drone companies embelish the specs to try to make it sound more appealing. I'm sure for $200 its not bad.

GPS Camera Drones are not designed to lift anything other than themself. The only drones that can lift something are those specifically designed for it.

Hi again Doc, can I get your opinion about these two drones please? Since you've done reviews on both of these in the past, which one performs better? The YLRC S135 with GPS, 3-Axis gimbal, and Obstacle Avoidance or the SG908 GPS FPV and a (self-described ad) 3 axis self stabilizing gimbal. I honestly don't know if that's a better gimbal than the 3 axis gimbal on the S135 or the exact same thing but with fancy wording. So I added it here for you just in case. I'd really appreciate your take on these two drones, so I can make a sound decision based on fact and experience rather than the hype that manufacturers sometimes offer. Thanks bud. Hello, Captain! I have the same drone, but it lags and breaks even when I'm a meter away from it. At 30 meters and 10 high, the remote control almost loses range. Records intermittently even on a high-end memory card. Any advice? Thank you!

Only use a 16 or 32 gig card that is class 10. Your phone internal antenna is your range problem. Remove your phone case and don’t fly near areas with wifi.

I have just purchased ylr/c and the gimbal does not perform correctly. Is there a reset button that will correct. The camera works but the gimbal doesn’t adjust the angle.

Gimbal initialization is on start up. I don't believe there is any other settings for it.

Good video. Thanks for pointing out the flaws in the software. I remain boggled that many Chinese companies can't find one person who can spell in English better than typical 2nd grader who knows how to use a spell checker. Might as well just use pseudo-English such as texting : "r u ready 2 go?". Not really a complaint, just an observation that hints about the quality of things to come.

I agree. Billions of people in China so it should be easy enough to find someone in the key languages that they can hire for a quick translation of a product that is being sold around the globe.

Would you tell us the weight at start of flight w/the obstacle avoidance near the start of videos or w/links please. This is esp important if considering adding an FAA approved Remote I.D. module & staying below 250g. Thank you.

If a drone weighs under 250 grams, I mention that as a highlight at the start of a video review. If it weighs more, then the weight is shown in the UNBOXING portion of the review video. The world is extremely large and every country has different rules. My channel is viewed internationally so items like REMOTE ID are only applicable to US Citizens, and other items are only applicable to select other countries, so I can't pack it all in. In a year from now, drones with REMOTE ID will be sold in NORTH AMERCIA that are over 250 grams and those ones will clearly idicate the remote ID option.

Thank you for your great informative video. I really enjoyed it. I live in Sweden and I am thinking of buy one of these you showed here. It´s only mu economy that has stopped me, but maybe this month I will order one. The one I choose is with two batteries and the 360 camera to avoid to hit on things. Is there anything I suppose to think of? Have you any good advices to tell? Thank you again for your great video.

Hi Steve, are there ANY camera drones out there that are actually manufactured in the USA/Canada? I haven’t seen any videos of drone reviews that ever mention USA made drones ….. never. Only DJI, Autel, etc. very disheartening. Thanks Captain.

Umm....skydio.... Everyone else only makes shit for special industry or military- no one wants to fuck with the consumer drone market because its too demanding and too many QC issues to be profitable. China owns the drone world

All drones, and pretty much most consumer electronics, are made in China due to low costs. Some companies assemble drones in the USA with parts made in China such as Skydio.
