Across the Heart of Europe: we ride through beautiful forests and along winding rivers. make all kinds of beginner mistakes on the way and arrive at the feet of the majestic Alps.
To see, feel, smell, hear and taste everything the road has to offer will be so much different than watching a documentary or reading a book about it. Sometimes it will be difficult and most of the time fantastic. We hope you will find some inspiration in our video's and maybe fuel your dreams as so many other have done for us.

If you had a smaller tent you can camp at more places with more options, This is one of the things that I learned after my first couple of tours. It is also easier to regulate temperature in a smaller tent than a big tent. Great video.

I have to say Exped is a company that stands behind their products. My old mat was even 1 year over the warranty date! Fingers crossed, so far we didn't have much trouble with being sick on the road the last 5 months. Thanks!

So cool and humbling that our rolling around video making is inspiring you to consider bicycle touring. Europe is just wonderful for cycling. Beautiful with layer upon layer of history. Hi Chris! Maudi once did a years worth of training at a dedicated school! Some stuff must have stuck 😉 I (Eric) am a rookie in this whole thing and learning every step. We also take our time to do it the way it feels right for us! We kind of swap edits per episode and then there is always a fresh pair of eyes to help smooth out the kinks. We feel there is still a ton to learn and improve on so any tips are welcome!? Thanks!

We would have a great time talking about all kinds of big and small stuff and we could learn a lot how to fix up ourselves and maybe other people if injury happens. I like that region, the borders of Germany and France (and Luxemburg and Belgium). That's my first goal for a bicycle tour 'in foreign country'. But still next year I'll stay in the Netherlands. There's so much of the country I have not yet seen, or not seen since decades. But maybe in 2021 ....

Hardstikke bedankt 😊 Maudi rijdt op een 2e hands Koga Miyata (rond 2007) and Eric (ik) heb een MTB frame, uit waarschijnlijk halverwege de jaren 90, van onder tot boven helemaal opnieuw opgebouwd met veel 2e hand en ook nieuwe spullen. Ja, we hebben 2 proefritten van een week gemaakt voordat we vertrokken om alles te testen en te kijken of we het wel echt leuk zouden vinden. Groet! E&M

Hey Sheelagh! Thanks for the compliment!! We both use a sony A6000 and our main lens is a stabilized 18-105 f4. Mic is the ECM gz1m, though we wont recommend it because it produces some background noise. Audio and color correction we do mainly in post production :-)

What are your total cargo weight for each person that you're carrying on your bikes? And what are your thoughts on the amount of cargo you have such as affecting your biking performance, etc.?

We didn’t weigh our bags but around 20/25 kg for Maudi and 30/35 for me (Eric). We are a bit heavy but mostly that’s ok. We are shipping some unnecessary stuff home though. On a big uphill the mind starts wandering to those pieces of kit 😉

If you would to check out some lightweight camping gear, here are some brands that offer that: For tents; MSR Hubba, etc series, Hyke & Byke makes lightweight sleeping bags and tents Sea to Summit (although kind of pricey) has some really neat camping gear which are a also weight conscious.
