@@metrolinamartialarts can you show how to aim your punches and kicks for accuracy and power? I have come up with a new way of teaching striking . I don't use heavy bags, mitts, speed bag or double end bag and I don't use hand rapps . I only us the BoB and I teach lining up on my opponents, getting my distance, hitting correct and hitting my opponent in the correct places like the jaw,timpal, behind the ears and liver,spleen, solar plax, knees and calf. I have students that have fought in the cage and have knock their opponents out a minute or less. I can send you videos to prove that I am telling the truth. I have video of sparing people who challenge me and my students also. It's crazy how it works!

@@timw3485 it's wild to me that people are challenging you lol. I can show a video about that, sure. If you have video of your method, tag me in it.
@timw34852 жыл бұрын
@@metrolinamartialarts why is it hard to believe that people challeng me? What's you're video on aiming punches and kicks? Do you really want to know what my routine for striking is? You don't get people who have challenged you ever ? I would really like to show you in person how I teach my students and be more than happy to step in the ring with you and prove that how I teach striking is real! I would really like to see what you're opinion is on the way I teach striking if it really does improve your aiming skills for punches and kicks. You will connect with your punches and kicks with more power and accuracy. I can fly you here or I can fly to meet you anywhere you like. I don't want to make a video and give my aiming system away for free because you will not find the way I teach anywhere in the world . I believe it's the fastest , easiest and safest way to learn boxing and kickboxing skills. I'm 160 pounds and 62 in December and still love to play.

@@timw3485 woah woah - its not a shot at you or your methods. But more a dig at others who want to challenge you. I'm a pretty laid back guy, so whenever people challenge me or whatever they lose interest. I don't seek outside validation from strangers directly, they either like what I do or not. 🤷♂️

I did non verbal mitt training for my first few months. Just see it and go. When I finally started sparring my instinct was to punch their glove like it was a mitt. Bad habit that eventually got exploited when people figured it out.

I've always imagined that the mits are either a head or parts of the body. The second thing that I do since I started striking is to always aim at least 20 cm behind the target. You can try this if it suits you.

@@metrolinamartialarts You know, after quite a few years of fighting probably the two most essential things for me in nowadays are having a trusted training companion/s (I am a natural heavyweight and having hard sparrings with a headache for a couple of days after that is no longer with it for me), and a trainer who is actually improving your techniques with the mits more so than just a cardio session.

I do think there's a misconception about the relation of the pad with the implied part of the body. Just because the holder might have extended arms, doesn't change the exercise. The pad is the head/body/legs. The person holding doesn't necessarily need to take hits just for "realistic" purposes. If that were the case, heavybags would be the same cuz they don't move around as a real person would. And no arms or legs to imply range or defense. The pad the part of the body being targeted. Getting closer to the holder would be more like exaggerating the movement for entry. But that just how I see it.

Personally, my padholding improved when I started to treat the session like sparring, and I would put the pads where my defense would go. So rather than my partner aiming for the pads, they're mostly aiming at me, and I'm catching the attack with the pads
