When someone first explained to me how to play Lorcana, they said it's kinda like Magic and Pokemon combined. Edit: I'm only playing Magic right now but want to learn Lorcana bc I'm a massive Disney fan. Pokemon I just collect the cards. I refuse to play Yugioh ever again. Too goddamn competitive. I totally agree! It is a very fun mechanic because you can build a deck of cards you want, and then depending on the current game situation, you can use a card you don’t need in that moment as resource!! The old World Of Warcraft TCG used to do this (Not Hearthstone, the actual card game) - was one of the best features of it, also had quest cards you would put down as a resource face up that you could complete the quest at any time and get the reward, but also use it as a resource like normal.

Hi Mr Meow! So, the cool thing is they already made a John Silver card from Treasure Planet!!! He will be available in the first set. So far, he is the only one, but since they put him in the game, we know they will be making more Treasure Planet cards in the future! I think over time we will definitely see Atlantis & Big Hero 6 cards since those are animated movies and seems to be the focus of Lorcana. I am also a huge fan of Big Hero 6 and would LOVE to see that added into the game!! We don’t know yet if they will dabble into the Live Action movies yet like Tron, but maybe they will in the future since they are making 4 sets of this game every year!! Anyways, thanks for watching, it is fun to speculate on which cards are coming next. I hope you have a great day!

@BrimleyGames3 ай бұрын
Hi, great question! If you are playing the "official rules", you can only have 2 colors in a deck. However, there are some fun variations of the game that allow you to use whatever colors you want. Then main thing I would suggest is, if you all agree to play multi-color decks, it should be fine and will be a lot of fun! One of my favorite variations is playing "Movie Decks". You can put any color of cards in your deck as long as they are from the same move like: Aladdin, Moana, etc... I hope this helps!

quick question: Can i go for challenge oder quest with my charackter after he sing a song?
@BrimleyGames Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question. So, doing any of those actions requires a character to be ready (face up) and after you do the action, you must exert them (turn sideways). So, if you sing a song, your character would be exerted and so you would be unable to challenge or quest, unless a card can ready a character again. In that case, you could perform another action. I hope that helps! Let me know if you have additional questions. Thanks!

For someone who is new to the game, as far as the start of the game to putting to putting my first card into the Inkwell, would it be recommended it be the lowest number of ink or am I getting confused by the number inside the frill? That was one of the couple things I was trying to understand in the instructions. Like for example, I had a card that had 2 inside the circle.
@crisp__5 ай бұрын
Each card is worth one ink. You place it face down in your inkwell. The number is the cost to play the card, meaning if your card says "2" then you must have 2 inks in your inkwell to play that card.

So... is there any way to prevent your opponent from gaining lore? Or is the only viable game strategy rush lore to 20?
@BrimleyGames Жыл бұрын
Great question! There are ways to slow an opponent down. Here are 2: -challenging: make favorable trades for you to slow down your opponent. -removal: cards that banish their characters without challenging This is a fun balance in the game. You have to figure out what the decks goal is. A lot of decks, just want to quest and go for 20 lore fast. But there are a lot of other decks that rely on expensive cards, and so they challenge / remove more in the early game and then play the big characters in the late game to win. I hope this answered your question! Hope you have a great day!

So how do you deal with opponents "READY" card? Why not leave all cards in ready, seems like that makes them invincible?
@BrimleyGames Жыл бұрын
Hi Anthony! Currently there are only a few ways. There are certain cards that can exert an opposing character, removal options to banish a chosen character (even if “ready”), or even cards that deal damage without challenging (like a lot of steel cards). In the second set, we are also getting more cards that give you options to deal with “ready” characters. In my experience, you can only leave them all in a “ready” position for a short time. If you keep them there for too long and never challenge, your opponent will likely win before you. Also, cards like grab your sword and be prepared can take out a lot of characters at a time which can really mess up a strategy of leaving them all “ready” at the same time. There isn’t a simple answer here, but I hope this helped a bit. Please let me know if you have additional questions. Thanks!

Yeah, it does take a bit of a learning curve, but the thing I love about it is that the base game is generally simple and each card's ability does different things and that is where the "complexity" comes in.
