That dream daddy shit is fucking infuriating. They weren’t the only queer men in the office. It’s strange to think they were. Also, a dude who’s on oneyplays all the time who gave his cishet friends the f4g pass because he doesn’t mind/thinks it’s funny getting bent out of shape when a different queer man makes a gay dating sim that isn’t exclusively targeted at gay men is… really fucking embarrassing to see mostly other non-queer people (who do not give a fuck about homophobia most of the time) pretending to care about gay representation in media. The game wasn’t queerbaiting just because women also like it. The discussion of women in gay masc spaces is nuanced and complex, and while he’s well within his rights to be super burnt out by that content, it’s also fine that gay men and other queer people who liked the game exist. Whatever he went thru with Matt and Ryan isn’t relevant to this. Supermega is its own entity and they have their own hellhole to navigate (apparently they’re doing just fine.) It’s horrible he was suicidal and that wasn’t taken seriously or handled appropriately. I’d want to steer clear of a place where I associate wanting to end my life too. I have tried to find something, anything, that isn’t just “our token cool queer guy that lets us say the haha word decided this thing couldn’t be gay so it became a hate crime actually” and I could take concerns for his wellbeing more seriously if they weren’t lost in a sea of comments talking about people whining about the concept of basic human respect being applied to marginalized groups they’re not interested in humanizing aka being too PC. watch one of the 15% of oney clips that are funny or the 85% that aren’t. If there’s anything actually serious that people are mad about that isn’t “queer guy mad at closeted queer guy for making queer media” (not remotely something y’all care about) and “people were shitty to a suicidal person” (that really fucking sucks but it’s pretty much never mentioned when this comes up. You have to scroll for there to be talk about his actual health. Like. Fill in what I’m missing here.)
