I appreciate your time spent providing this video. I must say that as I true 'beginner', (have never used my cnc for anything other than 'surfacing', I do not know what a 'pocket' is? And many things that you mentioned in the video are foreign to me. So if you are a real beginner, this is not the video for you. Try to remember what it was like when you didn't know what an 'SVG' was, then maybe a real beginner could benefit from such a video.

Hello John - excellent point. I did an entire series that starts from zero and takes the viewer through the full digital manufacturing experience (kzbin.info/aero/PLCVvx3PnAfyf-YXNFPpK-_xpc3OTPB8nz). In the end, any content creator has to make some basic assumptions about the audience. It's a tough balance -- how much do you repeat and possibly alienate intermediate or advance users vice beginners. I'm pondering a longer-form "class" for complete beginners -- I'm interested in your thoughts on something like that.

You should have down cut to half depth to establish the top edge then a second run to the full depth with an up cut.

Hello Billie Jo -- I do not know what you mean by "downloaded the code" -- you mean you saved the gcode to your computer? If so, you need to then upload the gcode to the onefinity -- you can do that by using a flash drive (copy to flash drive, put the flash drive in the OF USB port), or by clicking the upload button on the OF interface from your laptop and completing the upload. From there, the gcode should show up in the drop down and you will be able to "run" it from the user interface. Hope that helps -- thanks for watching!

Hi - I'm having trouble getting my project to start on the correct zero. I have homed my OneFinity and have used the XYZ Probe on the workpiece. My issue is that when I bring in my G-Code from Easel, it does not start on the workpiece zero. Instead it is starting a few inches in front of it. Do you have a video explaining what I might be doing wrong??

Hi Stephen - I do not have a specific video on zeroing and work coordinate systems. That said, I am working on a new series that might help; unfortunately it is not out yet. My recommendation at this time is to ensure you know where your zero position is within Easel. Based on my experience, zero is always the lower left corner unless you have the Pro edition (which I do not). Make sure your machine is homed first, and then zeroed to the required location. You can always simulate the gcode in Easel, or preview your gcode in Camotics (camotics.org) if you want to validate everything. For the OF specifically, I would validate you have the correct probe dimensions in the settings menu. Manually checking your zero position after probing is a good idea as well. I hope this help! Thanks for watching!

Could you flip the no soliciting 90 degrees in easel?

I don't see any reason why you can't. Easel has flip horizontal and vertical, we all as rotate functions. Thanks for watching!
