Thank you, Mikey. Your tutorial helped me figure out how to better understand patterns and how to adjust sizes.

Well there you go doing it again! Reading people's minds on what they need! Thank you for doing this, Mikey, it's very much appreciated and needed.

Mikey THANK YOU !!! THANK YOU for this explanation. OMG I just watched the Dorothy blanket on bag-o-day (Crystal is excellent but I was confused). Its a gorgeous blanket and I had no clue what the 4 + 2 was bc I always read a written pattern that has the foundation chain written for me or it would say it in the video. LOVE your explanation!!!

Thank you so much Mikey. I have seen so many pattern swatches that I wanted to use to make afghans or throws but because they were only done in small sample sizes I couldn't do it because I was unable to figure out how long to create the base chain. Now I can figure it out easily and correctly.

Thanks so much Mikey!! I've been crocheting for about 40 years off and on but only following written instructions and never knew how to figure out the multiples to adjust sizes up or down of a pattern. You've explained this so well😁👍 Now, just gotta learn to read diagrams because I find some online, different languages and no legend thing saying what the stitches are😥

Thank you so much!! Explaining this with the diagram is much easier to understand than just relying on the written pattern.

I wish I had learned about multiples when I had started crocheting. When I first started watching tutorials the hosts kept mentioning multiples but didn't explain what a multiple is. I finally figured it out on my own, but I whish I had had a video like this to explain what a multiple is.

Excellent tutorial!!! Unfortunately I don’t crochet but I knit in the round. I have so many beautiful design patterns that are in multiples. Can I use these instructions for multiples to knit a sweater? I would assume stitches are stitches irregardless if you knit them or crochet them. Am I correct or not? Greatly appreciate your response. Maybe I will also teach myself to crochet. 😊

Hi Mikey! I am crocheting in the round. Can this formula work if I don’t have turning chains? Thank you!

Mikey thank you for the tutorials - the manner in which you show visually as well as explaining verbally is very clear and leaves no room for doubts for the beginner - you make it easy for a beginner to crochet like a pro :) thank you ! mille grazie!

I've never had to do a multiple stitch still having trouble. So say pattern starts out like a multiple of 16 + 18 do you multiply 16X16 then add 18

Hi Mikey Need help! Trying to do a pattern with ch# 2 dc sc, repeat second row with 2dc in single sc, across. Can you help with what a pattern for this would be. It’s a long shot but I think I made it without a pattern years ago and want to do it again. Appreciate any assistance you might give, Ruthiejo

Thank you I have a pattern that is, ch 1sc in first dc *sc next chain 3sp,Shell,in the next ch 3 sp**sc next ch 3 sp,V st. But the pattern doesn't start with foundation. It starts with a circle then the rows. I don't like quessing what the person meant.

Help! I have a border pattern that says multiple of 7 +2 plus corners. How do you calculate corners? Is it 1 per corner, or the number of stitches in 1 corner or 1/2 the number of stitches per corner? AWESOME video, thanks!

omg. I am still not getting it. I watched a few vids and they go so deep into the explanations of it that i get totally lost. I simply want to know how to figure out the multiples to be able to make something quite a bit smaller than their pattern but it never works out and i'm always short a few stitches so have to rip it out and start again. I'm using patterns that are in the easy category. I practiced by doing what it said like for example 10 + 3 so i crocheted 23 and apparently that's wrong and i still had stitches to go or not enough. So is 33,43,53 and so on wrong.... Can you simplify it by telling me why those numbers are always off and how is it that i'm always wrong and can never find a pattern that i'll be able to make in the size i want. No Einstein stuff needed here, i also don't understand those graph patterns and don't really feel the need to learn what that's all about. I just want to crochet small things using written blanket patterns. I already tried multiplying 13 and made chains of 26 and 39 but nope, wrong again. Sorry i'm so long winded, just frustrated with every foundation chain being wrong for me.

I'm sorry. I don't know how to explain it better. I tried to based on my own thought processes.
