Colin, you really took me back with this great little series. I am 65 and still remember (just) doing this at school with the more brittle Lino tiles. This has encouraged me to give this a go! The down side of your wonderful videos is that I am suffering from ‘art material acquisition syndrome’, which I have to say is fine as long as the items are put to good use. The most value for money materials are the ones you use. Thanks again for sharing. And like others have said, great studio!

You made me chuckle re art equipment acquisition. Sometimes I buy different materials that are on offer to try them out and make a video

A revelation, thank you for posting these videos and for demonstrating how accessible printing can be, or should i say in my case, will be.

Morning Toby, I learnt so much from your 4 lino print videos...I had never been excited by lino print but now u have me chomping at the bit to have a go. Thank u so much. I love the lines in the white space and I'm so glad that u decided to keep them in...happy accidents r always the best feeling. x Oh and I so wish for your studio, how lovely is that to be in creating. Well done Mrs Woodward for putting up with your washing line full of drying prints in her kitchen too....all in the name of art...bless her. Love Alli XX

I really enjoyed watching the videos on how to do Lino printing. Seems to be pretty easy and a fun art to try. I really like the valley print. It would be awesome to hang in my art studio. Thanks for all the tutorials you give us. I always looking forward to the next one 😊

The lecturer that introduced me to printing was fantastic and we leant a awful amount from Lino cut through etching and copper plate. My wife loved the leaf print that was layering a selection of autumn leaves covered in different coloured inks and laid on a coloured background then passed through the press. Possible something to demonstrate. Your demonstration was great and you have a fabulous way of explaining the process thank you. Haven’t done any work with the printer for some time now as other art projects have taken up my time but I think that a Christmas card could be in the frame.

What a fun process! Thanks so much for sharing! I've always steered away from printmaking because it always looks so complicated, but I feel like now I might be able to.

Thanks Colin! This is a very helpful series on Lino printing. I have recently done some Lino printing and I enjoyed it so much. I did make an awful mess though because I was so engrossed in the process that I forgot to wash my hands. Your method of using baby wipes is a great idea. I have recently also tried dry point etching using plastic sheets. The press needed packing with extra paper, but it wasn’t as good as your press. The results were amazing! We then went on to do Chine Collé where you use tissue paper on the print to add colour. It’s very fiddly but the effects are good. Apparently you can use the inside of plastic milk bottle to etch. I haven’t tried that. I would love to see you do some experimental videos using different surfaces to etch into maybe? Also I would like to see the reduction technique. That blows my mind! 😊

Hi Pauline, great comment, thanks for taking the time to write - the baby wipes were a gamechanger for me! I’ll absolutely be doing more videos on printmaking and love your suggestions, thank you

Cool, tempted to get one of those CPL presses some time. Makes more consistent and can’t miss pressing with brayer/spoon on an area.
