A couple of things to ask or say! first is when you thought you had found the gold mine I noticed a couple of things a lot of people are guilty of! you were standing up back bent over and you also had your kit on your back second as you were sawing you was nipping your saw and you can see it in the video, I would have taken my kit off and kneel so I was nearer to my work and have something under the work so it is easier to saw one last thing you may be able to help me with is how long can you store the wood for ( is there a sell-by date ) so to speak.

@denis_1469

Its quite easy actually, the problem he had is that he tried to process fat wood from pine trees that had fallen quite early into there death,now the knots even 6 ft up in a dead pine tree that is still standing will have much much more fat wood. another is mane roots and tap root, if you have a shovel of course. I have taken out a few experiments and found this is the case however it is hard to distinguish how long a tree has been dead for

OK complete noob here with a couple of queries 1, where do we stand with the knives and the law in the UK? 2, you said you was going to show how to process it 3, just what do we use it for, I'm adding fire. Thanks in advance.
@WildernessAdventuresUK
@WildernessAdventuresUK 2 жыл бұрын
OK knives in the UK is a tricky one, private land, camp sites etc you should be OK, that's not to say is legal so to speak.. you have to be quite savvy. Processing it is a video to come, thank you for reminding me, I will do a dedicated video, although I have used it in several old videos.. Finally, you use it as a water resistant fire starter, the resin in the pine catches a spark very easy and burns for a while giving you a chance to start a fire in bad conditions.. I hope this lot helps 🙏🏼

hello really enjoyed the video as im off out on my first adventure very soon looking for fat wood and in a unrelated topic could you tell the brand of tactical trouser you have on in this video as they look exactly what i am looking for ? -p.s im with you both on people littering infact littering anywhere , i have ongoing battles with people who think its fine to thriw wrappers, scratch cards even cigarette butts, clearly poorly educated and disrespectful i had 2 people sat in a car outside my flat cracked the window a bit then started pushing out two pizza boxes , used napkins and then two drink cups this was around 6pm in daylight with people walking passed !! so god only knows how these poor excuses for civilised people would behave in a forest where no one can see them the mind boggles! 🤬- anyway great channel 👍 im late to the bushcraft party but enjoying learning from guys like you two who kindly share knowledge... god bless both 😇😇 👍- john
