Mate! what can I say. Coming from the Elektron world ( Rytm II, Digitone, Digitakt which I absolutely loved ) when I first started to play with my new LIVE Mk II, I totally hated it! I could't understand anything and the whole touching screen experience felt awful. I was sure to return it I get myself an Octatrack instead, but your video changed EVERYTHING!!! Thank you so much for putting this together! I was following you, doing a beat and after the three or so hours everything was clear, makes total sense and I can now see all the potential. One of the biggest "love it or hate it" factors between MPC models is the balance of user-friendliness versus feature depth. From the moment we met the MPC X, the argument was over. This music-production monster delivers more music-production horsepower than any MPC before, but with a hands-on user interface that is so intuitive you can probably pick one up and put it to work without so much as touching the manual.

Love your vids. This one is particularly good, however, I would love to see a part two where you add more variations and transitions. I'm pretty new to the MPC and sometimes starting from sequences makes it harder to see the track as a whole, making my beats feel more robotic. Hi tube you said at around 5min ur not goin to create a chop program wat is a chop program and wen would you use a chop program as opposed to just havin all your chops and drums /sounds and saving them as 1 program ?thanks😉
@TUBEDIGGA
@TUBEDIGGA 6 жыл бұрын
A perfect example of a chop program is when you have a drum break sample for instance, let’s say two bars long, and you want to automatically split it into 16 equal sections or ‘chops’/ slices and have them mapped over the 16 pads. You can split it based on volume threshold (where the drum hits are loudest, otherwise known as peaks), tempo, into a set amount of regions, or manually. You can then export this as a program and also have the chops/slices automatically added into the sequence to save you programming them in. I conduct lessons over Skype or Google Hangouts if you want a proper insight into the MPC. Pm me for details if interested, tubedigga@gmail.com

When you purge it removes any unused or all samples (depending on the option you choose of course) from the RAM memory in the currently loaded project. It doesn't remove them from your project data folder or any original samples you have stored on disk.

No idea, the audio tracks would have to be way more advanced to compete with Ableton. They’d also have to consider video sync and lots of other things. I imagine they’ll go their own way and stick to the MPC format but hopefully add some unique stuff to further improve what users love about MPC.

Woohoo! Made my first MPC beat today thanks to your videos! I recorded some keys, and I was trying to find an EQ in the MPC Live to neaten up the sound within the beat. Couldn't see one, do you know if there are any EQs in there somewhere?
@TUBEDIGGA
@TUBEDIGGA 5 жыл бұрын
Attention It depends on what exactly you want to achieve. Each pad has its own dedicated filter and more often than not I use those to equalise individual sounds. Otherwise every pad, program, master outputs and returns can have up to 4 insert effects. You have 4 dedicated eq effects. The PEQ2 and PEQ4 and the low shelving and high shelving eq insert fx. The latter two are better for cutting and boosting frequencies whilst the PEQs are best used for subtle balancing in my opinion

Thanks tubedigger. Respect. @35.00.00 you sampled some psych flute guitar from YT for pad 9 etc. If you create a commercial hit, can't you be sued by the owner? Respect
@TUBEDIGGA
@TUBEDIGGA 6 жыл бұрын
Only if the sample is used commercially without permission from the publisher or copyright owner. Sometimes owners don’t sue but set out conditions where they take a percentage of any revenue generated from sales. It depends on many factors, like the original artist may feel their work has been misrepresented or have an emotional attachment to a song and may not give permission at all. It would be reckless for a record label to put out a track, make a quick buck and take a chance as it’s a lot easier to detect samples these days. They could end up giving all that money back.

TUBE DIGGA OK so I've spent grant like this, first term £1500 pioneer mixer i been waiting for for twenty years (and yes its worth it😉), 2nd term 2x mpc live and a volca or two, third is planned for deep mind 12, neutron, korg monologue and EMPRESS ZOIA pedal.... .but yes your on hit list for support and come new grant will bung sad amount of money your way..but pennies. Thanks for heads up on patrieon ...i couldn't even work out it.even how to join??? So that's badish....which is why we are trying to get rid of brilliant computers that don't quite do job live as we wished many years ago😉😉later bro will promise a small donation...well after all you saved me getting pioneer, which are brilliant and sound quality second to non...but going through their mixer any way...and as you know mpcs different completely 😉😉😉 AND IM A BIG BIG BIG PIONEER FAN, keep it up northern/ midlands dude??😉 PS its amazing the culary delights you can come up with eating baked beans..if a synth is involved😂😉 don't know if Cornwall is ready for this, did presentation today, gob spacked faces, working with out Mac😂😂😂 told em check out point blank studios😉

what do you use to connect the mpc to computer in order to sample from youtube?...my studio monitors take a regular headphone port, so im using those for sound at the moment, thanks for any feedback, love the videos!

My mixing desk has a built in USB interface so I take a feed from my Mac out of that from the alternate outputs into the MPCX

Hey Tube love your videos fam i have a question,im using the MPC live, i saw when you wanted to record a sample you went straight to youtube and got it right from there, how were you able to do that?
@TUBEDIGGA
@TUBEDIGGA 4 жыл бұрын
Winston Wright I have a USB mixer which can send and return audio from my Mac simultaneously. You don’t necessarily need that though, just get a suitable cable for whatever your computer needs. For example for you have a laptop then get a 1/8” to 1/4” cable etc

@@TUBEDIGGA hey tube thanks for taking the time out to respond, but I'm new to beat making and the mic live, so I'm not sure where to go to get the screen to record or what exact cable you are referring to, do you have a video talking about it?
@TUBEDIGGA
@TUBEDIGGA 4 жыл бұрын
Winston Wright No, I don’t do a lot of those kind of videos as everyone’s studio set and gear are different so it all gets a bit generalised. Hit me up on email if you want some private lessons tubedigga@gmail.com I’ll have you flying in no time Peace

Thx for this great tutorial. i'm looking into buying either or. does it make sense to right away get the X or start first with mpc live? thx

I upgraded to the X so I could use it with modular gear, it depends on what you need. The physical controls and extra ins and outs are also great to have. The build quality is superior. But the Live is portable and just as functional/powerful in terms of its general use. I’d say the X is a luxury if you don’t need the extra outs, cvs, and overall controls/size.

When you select TC and "all" does it affect only the notes on that particular track or ALL notes on that sequence? Thank you...
