Hi - This video is amazing. Learned a lot, even after 12 years, worked as a charm. BTW, where can I rest of the parts of this Video series?

@jbm03 I have been busy filming a feature film :) More tutorials are on their way for both this camera and filmmaking in general. Glad you liked it!

@BustG there are two ways of doing this. First is by installing the provided software onto your computer, then using the provided usb cable and attaching it to your computer. Open up the EOS Utility Application and select the clips you want to download (usually its all of them). The second way is to use an external card reader insert the card into there. It will mount on your computer like an external harddrive. Hope this helps!

Just purchased this camera - as for entry level, I still have my Olympus Om1n (owned since 1984) and am very knowledgeable with it - however after using a variety of 'point & shoot' digital cameras I am now ready to accept defeat that they can even begin to replicate what I used to be able to do - As an artist I like to shoot my own pics of scenes to paint and did quite a bit of research before purchase. I really appreciate video instruction to help me with new technology. Many thanks.

@KITKNUCLES you are describing several situations where you need a variety of lenses. And it depends on how much you have to spend too. A good overall lens is a zoom, something that goes rather wide (18mm or so) to rather telephoto (135mm or so) This is the kit lens that comes with the 7D. My personal lens kit goes from about 3mm (fisheye) all the way to 300mm. And then I have the 50mm 1.8 lens, which is a great lens. All of this cost me about $300, minus the kit lens I got.

I'm really thinking about purchasing this camera - specifically for recording video. I honestly have never used a camera before but extremely impressed by the quality of this machine. What would you recommend me purchasing along with this camera to achieve the cinema look and feel that?

For manual ISO setting you did at this tutorial video, Its good to mention the Dial Mode must be selected to M ( Manual Mode ) otherwise the ISO numbers will not show up on the rear LCD Screen , (Auto ISO Mode) . very good tutorial thanks for sharing :-)

Well, it's a 'Prosumer' camera. It was one of the cameras (including the 5D, 1D and an Ari Super 16mm) that was used to shoot Black Swan.

@TheRabbleHouse Can you maybe include some basic information on which lens to use in particular situations. I have three lenses and I don't know what the appropriate situation is to use them.
@TheRabbleHouse12 жыл бұрын
@KatiushaVN4 this was actually shot on a 7D, which goes to show that you really need good lighting...this was shot in a dead room for sound purposes, which had really ugly and low lighting, meaning we had to bump up the ISO. It is almost maxed out on here. So if you want a reason to invest in lights, this video would b a calling card. We shot this very fast just to get the info out, not to look pretty :)

@AlertaLPs Yes, great lens, I tried the 85mm 1.4 and loved it, but I will stick by my cheap 50mm 1.8 for many reasons. I don't worry about it as much as a 1.4 or even 1.2, and because of that I have done more with it in situations where one would be scrambling to cover their camera instead of getting the shot

@KITKNUCLES So to answer your question, get yourself a variety of lenses to cover the bases, so you will be prepared no matter what situation you run into. If you have the money, get lenses that have a low F-stop. And if you really have the money get yourself a set of primes. If not, get a good zoom or two :)

This is actually not true, unless you are using a constant aperture lens. By zooming in optically, setting focus, then zooming out, you will notice a focus shift resulting in an out of focus image

I have been looking forward to this day when I receive my first "retarded" comment! Thank you! Alright, so here is the scoop troll, Videographer and Cinematographer are two different things. Now I thank you for the complement on calling me a Cinematographer, but when this was shot and released, I was a Videographer. So please, leave your hateful comments on someone else's videos, and when you do, make sure you know what you are talking about
