That's funny, yeah listen to your son! You will get something more than sufficient at that price point. Good luck!

Thank you Matt. This is extremely helpful. Should one be concerned about the number of HDMI ports a laptop has? I would like to run a wall monitor (extended not mirrored) as well as the projector from the laptop. Thank you in advance for any help.

Glad I was able to help! My laptop only has 1 HDMI port and I wanted to do something similar. What I ended up doing is using the USB C port the laptop has (make sure yours has this) and got a cheap USB C Hub off amazon, it was like $30. That then allowed me 2 HDMI ports and worked great.

Hi new to all this sim stuff, just to be clear I would like to buy the TK710sti projector so I can watch movies in 1080 p or 4K What decent laptop can you recommend to get decent graphics. I personally don’t want spend no more than say a £1k ish Thanks
@punchedgreensgolf2 күн бұрын
Great projector!! That might be tough to play in 4k with a laptop less than $1k. Have you considered a desktop? Prices vary like crazy depending on location but you will save costs with a desktop .

Your opinion is different than many of the other videos I watched that sent me away from laptops. But, I'm not running a 4k set up and I'd like to be able to move my computer and around and it woudl be a lot more usable if it was a laptop. thanks for the tips

Glad to help out! Laptops are definitely more portable and flexible than a desktop!

I have a 2017 desktop with 32 gigs of RAM and a 1080 TI graphics card. Do you think that’ll be good?
@punchedgreensgolf12 күн бұрын
I don't know a ton about that graphics card but I think you should be okay with it, maybe not highest settings but I am sure it can run.

I was thinking about a dedicated desktop. I’m waiting for Black Friday sakes. Do you have suggestions on desktops? Thank you
@punchedgreensgolfАй бұрын
That's awesome!! Really tough to say without seeing the prices compared to specs. But I would say look for specs that I outlined that GSPRO recommends and just figure out what is the best price for you.

Do you recommend a laptop or desktop? I’ve read where some people say the laptop gets hot.

Hey Matt, great video! I may have asked this before so apologies in advance, but will my AMD Ryzen 5 2600X have a negative impact if I upgrade my graphics card to a 3050 or 3060?
@punchedgreensgolf11 ай бұрын
Hey BA great question!! In general terms since that is an older CPU you may see bottleneck since you are upgrading to a newer graphics card, more so in video editing than GSPRO. I don’t think you would see any real impact in gspro since gaming/golf simulation is generally more graphic intensive than processor intensive, where video editing like the rendering process is more processor intensive.

If you have it run it but if you still need to buy a CPU then start off Ryyzen 5 3600 and above but start with Ryzen 5 so you still can run DDR4 if you already have Motherboard and Ram. No need for more than 16gb ram ever for golf or even gaming. Also use benchmark to compare parts but say a 1080Ti is same specs and speeds as a 3060TI for way cheaper. No need to go to a 30 or 40 series really so for ultra a 1080TI but for even medium/high 1080p you can use 1060ti-1070. Also 2 sticks in dual channel is what you want for gaming not 4 sticks. If ddr4 get 3200cl16 or 3600cl16-ck18 then if have 4 slots alternate 1 stick every 2nd slot so 2 sticks 8gb.

Dump the laptop idea! Get a desktop gaming PC with ANY modern CPU and then make sure it has the best graphics card you can afford. The graphics card is almost entirely responsible for ensuring you get a beautiful image and smooth 60 fps (the typical refresh rate on projectors and tv's). It's that simple.
@punchedgreensgolf6 ай бұрын
While I agree building a PC is more cost effective some people don’t feel comfortable doing that. I figure a laptop is usually much easier and more portable. Additionally you can sometimes get some good deals on them!

Would be good if you have internet at access in the area you're setting up. With a laptop you an download what you want then use your hotspot to authenticate then use it wherever you want
