Another simple project to try out that will help in learning the basics of carving and some finer control for detail work.

Greetings from Ireland!. Loved your informative video. It's great people like you that go to the bother of sharing their skill and information, that make KZbin the success it is. Thanks a million, Tom

Thanks. I'm a hobbyist woodworker that got into whittling during the pandemic. After using a Buck knife and the Swiss Army Knife Whittling book and graduating to a good whittling knife from North Bay Forge I'm ready for this. Thanks.

Yes! Please carve a chess set and film it as an instruction. That would be awesome 👌!!

I want so much more of this content. This is just awesome. Does anyone have tips on carving detailed knights without mill, lathe, band saws, or power tools?

I liked the project it is simple but I would recommend people use cut proof gloves to avoid the nine finger look.

Mora, or Morakniv. They have a small range of carving knives, but my personal favourite for whittling is their Basic 2/0. Lately though I've been using their chisel knife on a set or chessmen. The chisel head comes in really handy for certain cuts. Their model 122 is nice, though the blade stock is a bit thicker than I'd prefer for something this small.
